Well, they were desperate to get a C and that's what happens when you are desperate. You do stupid things. Also see drafting KK or trading Sergachev for Drouin. And some people want to pass on Wright...

At least they can keep their own first round pick. + they have the one for CGY and another one next season from the Panthers.
