Then golf it is.

Get ready for the draft, sign Montembaum, give a contrat to Saint-Louis, see what's out there for Petry....if you move him, replace him. Sign your RFAS. That's about it. One year left to Drouin and Byron.

there's a lot of other things to do, unless they aren't making any changes at all to the organization in terms of scouting or having a proper player development program for example, which would be a bit silly. mais je suis tout seul sur mon île là-dessus, c'est correct, j'abandonne

I don't think you have any experience in that field, so I'm gonna pass.

I've been making mock drafts for the past 10+ years. Pro-bono.

Wouldn't hire me either.

Tu le sais pourquoi on dit ça. C'est peut-être exagéré, pis y'a plus de choses à faire dans les faits, mais tu sais d'où ça vient.

Drouin and Byron have one year left. If mtl add a pick...

Word is they came close to move Weber and that's a huge cap hit for a few seasons for a guy that won't play anymore. You never know. The thing is they don't really need cap space short term and I would rather keep the picks and using them to move up in the draft.

Mind you I'm saying that the GM should play golf...there's just no fixing that team short term. It's a huge mess.

close enough yes.
Weber is 7.8
Price 10.5
that makes 18.3M
yes it counts againts the cap during the summer.
in the summer, Habs can go up to 90M +/- (82M + 10%).
when the season starts though, they need to comply, so they put Weber (and maybe Price) on LITR. they still count againts the cap, but they get a refund sort of. they can exceed the cap by a certain margin to replace these players.

the only reason they would need cap space for this summer is that they want to sign a UFA. which doesn't make much sense.

I could see them taking on a big contract that is about to expire this summer, for some picks / prospects, or use all the LITR money at the trade deadline for similar returns.

I do not see them spending big $$ this summer on a mediocre player (as no top line player would come to MTL regularly, let alone int his mess).

So per capfriendly right now the caphit is at 80.7 and we can go over by 10% so we have ~ 12 M to sign Romanov, Montembault, Pitlick, Dauphin, Wideman etc to complete roster? Going to be tight

Only one you need is Romanov. They can let the other collection of garbage find employment elsewhere.
