EVERY LEAF FAN would trade AM34 for McDavid.
- .HOHO.

McDavid is the best player in the world, no question.

Matthews is really an excellent player and still has upside. His shot and puck handling skills are exceptional. McDavid has game breaking speed that Matthews can't match. I'm sure that Leafs with 115 regular season points vs 104 for the Oilers would have much rather faced a poopbag team like the LA Kings in the first round.

Its not weird to say Matthews was better during stretches of the regular season.

If I was starting a team I'd pick McJesus.

- Aaron_85

Every player as ups and downs for sure. Am was dominant for stretches no doubt

I say no to Gibson. Bobrovsky, Markstrom, Quick, MAF are all out whereas Mike Smith channeled his inner Roloson and is now in the 3rd round.

I think Campbell can do it just fine.

- Aaron_85

Depends on campbells asking price.
But for sure pass on Gibson and bob

Looking to eat crow again 😆

Some people never learn……

- mr.sir

What crow?
Mickey was meh during the times i was saying he was meh, but this year he played good (which i said several times) then disappeared in the playoffs.
Gibson has been average the past 3 years.

Agree on all. I think Gibson is a good goalie and he's only 28, the size and length of the contract are not for the Leafs IMO. Scabby likes to pump the tires of Cole Caufield the Hoby Baker winner in 20-21. Did anyone notice that the Leafs picked up Dryden McKay the 21-22 Hobey Baker winner. He was a meh 38-5 this season. So while we were discussing how empty the goalie shelf was in the Leaf organization, maybe this 24 year old gets a shot real soon.

The vast majority of the Maple Leafs problems would be solved by hiring Trotz. Minimal roster changes needed.

Hard to argue this, Trotz is an excellent coach. Roster changes are going to happen because of the cap. Mrazek will be gone and Campbell is a UFA. Leafs will lose some players and add a few

the Ducks are looking to rebuild into a tough team to play against, and Maple Leafs’ prospect Nick Robertson is a workhorse who just happens to be from Pasadena, California. While Toronto loves his work ethic and determination, when you need a starting goalie, you need a starting goalie. Money is an issue here so Petr Mrazek and his expensive $3.8 million contract would have to make the trip down south, and the Leafs would need to include another mid-level prospect to likely get Verbeek to budge

👍

Gibson coming back ?? otherwise he has to be dealt 1st... but I like it.

He could be ok,

His 38 wins set a single-season NCAA record and his 34 shutouts in four seasons are the most in NCAA history. In four seasons at Minnesota State, McKay was 113-20-4 with a 1.46 GAA and .932 save percentage in 140 games.

hah, I was slightly editing my post as you posted. But yes, a little tinkering but primarily the installation of proven playoff systems along with the existing already proven NHL talent = Cup.

I don't think the Leafs really have a coaching problem. I think there are roster changes that they will necessarily have to make over the summer and then take another kick at the can.
