I don't know but if I'm Calgary, Mangiapane is where I cut bait if I need to.

I think he cashes in somewhere for 6. Maybe 6+. Someone will open their wallet

Flyers are the perfect trade partner. Fletcher will pay out the nose and he'll either get hurt or score 14 goals.

- MJL

If losing Mangiapane is the cost of doing business to pay your core, I think you might just have to swallow the loss

Flyers traded TK's best friend Patrick. Leafs traded Marner's real dad Matt Martin. Tom Wilson's best bud Burakovsky was traded away. Hanky cried when Zuccs was traded away. It happens. Cue "it's a business" cliche.

Aside from his leadership, Monahan is cooked.

- Tomahawk

I think Monahan has more in the tank. He just needs to get healthy. Last season it was a hip injury which he just recently had surgery for. I would expect him to struggle next season as I have heard it takes time for players with hip surgeries to feel 100% however he could be a low cost steal on his next contract.

Perhaps if Gaudreau walks theres a hockey deal out there that involves Monahan and Hayes

Monaghan has had health issues for the last 18 months. If he can get his health and confidence back he’s a steal…lCalgary up until now knows this and has been patient.

He also had PP's units with Giroux, Timonen, Hartnell and then Schenn in the bumper spot. Voracek and Simmonds. I could've coached that unit to success.
- MJL

Yep just good players make for success on the power play. Someone quick tell Florida that before they’re eliminated. There is an art to coaching and working with the staff you have. Changing things up as necessary and bringing the best out of players. Good as the players you name are most had career best pp numbers under Mullen. Sometimes the bottle fits the cap because the cap fits the bottle

Just read this on Twitter, kinda funny.

*#FlyersNews*
From a Source: Hearing Flames Forward Johnny Gaudreau left Scotiabank Saddledome late last night. He was heard saying "smell ya later" as he walked out wearing jeans, cowboy boots, and a replica Eric Lindros Stanley Cup Final Jersey from 1997. things are heating up

Monahan has had issues with both hips and has been on a steady 4 year decline breaking down physically.

GMs need to stop believing that "winning culture" can be transplanted by signing 4th-line grinders to obscene contracts.

It's his wrists most of all. He used to have a rocket shot. Ever since he (frank)ed up his wrist, he's no longer a scoring threat. His shot is never coming back.

The Rangers pretty much tried to do the same thing. Signed the other winger from that TB 3rd line and traded Buchnevich for Blais and a 2nd. Just awful moves.
- MJL

Made worse by the fact that Laf and Kakko are Chytil COMBINED couldn't match Buch's offensive output this year.

Hahaha so true! I guess Dale is an exception since he had no ties to Hexy before the signing.

Here's the thing though, if you were or assaulted or raped by 8 guys, you would disclose their identity and go after them. Not one of the 8 players was named, she simply went after the hockey league instead. If you are looking for justice you look to punish the wrong doers. I have no doubt in my mind that what she said happened was true, I question the fact she denies consent and how she's protected the players in question
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

The way I read the story she said she left with John doe1 to go to hotel. I’m assuming for consensual sex. She reported it to Canada hockey and chl which claim they reported to police ( lie maybe?) more than likely she did at some point disclose names. Obviously in settlement surely there is a clause to withhold names now (cover up)

Not all victims of sexual assaults/rape disclose info actually more go unreported for obvious reasons. I think she was by the story saying she gave consent to first player but not getting train run on her. Is that where you question her giving consent? Confidential agreement more likely not covering for players on her part more protecting her from publicity.

Obviously the leagues in question will try to cover players for fear of reputations and bad look on those leagues.

One of hexys worst and least talked about moves was letting Mullen go. Other than drafting Patrick it might have been his worst move.

Any chance we can get him back..?

Read an article the other day outlining a proposed trade between the Flyers and Leafs: Marner for Hart/TK. Would you do it? I thought about it and I would not do it and here is why, I am not sold on Mitch Marner. Yes he is coming off career highs in goals and points, however how much of that is from playing with Matthews and being part of a PP with Nylander, Matthews, O'Reilly and Tavares? Plus the Flyers would have to pay Marner $10.9M for 3 more years. I really don't think the Flyers are in any position to throw that type of money at any player right now until they can get a good coach in here and see what they actually got.

Within reason I’ve decided that I don’t really care who the next coach is. So many roster and developmental problems I just don’t see the coach making much difference one way or another right now.

I think this is a fair point. Imagine being in such a horrible position as a franchise having who the coach is not mattering? Sad.

A number of things here. First of all, Toronto would never make that move. Second of all, you're insane for not wanting to make that move if it was available. You talk about wanting elite players, now you want to see what they got. Are you not aware now that they don't have elite players? Who the coach is would be irrelevant in that hypothetical.

I was thinking he had more then one year left….but like JVR he’s a year from UFA. 3 years ago he played hurt and he struggled, but the was after an 80 point season 4 years ago in which he was really good …who knows if can get it back? I’m not a doctor. But when healthy he is a very good I know Calgary has been patient but may look to move on. (Or try). He is only 27 so I think to simply say he’s shot because of his last 2 1/2 years might be premature.
