I agree that the founding fathers imbedded that within the framework of the constitution because they knew they weren't infallible and omniscient, but in reality it's a very hard thing to accomplish with the required mechanisms to pass an amendment.

It's why we only have 27, not hundreds, thousands, etc. And 10 of them came with the ratification of the constitution, which makes them sacrosanct, for all intents and purposes. Hell, it took 70+ years and a civil war to get to number 13.

And there'll be another civil war before anything touches the BoR. Our democracy is fragile enough with all the Big Lie BS as it is, so we might be heading that way soon, and for the worse.
