I'm surprised that there are no protests in front of NRA honchos houses, maybe when they feel the heat they'll come around or just supporting politicians supported by the NRA. If the people really wanted to get something done i'm sure they could |

oh, so I guess they barely verify anything about the individual then lol - Pat1993
They run you through the FBI database etc. But if you're 18 with nothing to your name, you're fine. When I got my gun license in Canada I had to have three people that were non-family members verify my identity and sign to it, pass the courses and pass the CSIS background check. Then I had a random inspector come to my place three times over the first six months of my license to check that I was storing my weapons properly.
Again, I love living in Canada. |

Then it wouldn't be legal in Texas. - AdamFrench
Under federal law, you must be 18 to buy a handgun, but under Texas law there is no minimum age to possess firearms.
Currently in Texas, you do not need a permit to purchase a firearm. You do not need a firearm registration. There are no magazine capacity restrictions, license requirements nor background checks on private sale requirements. |

sadly, these kinds of procedures probably sound insane to a lot of our neighbours down south, but this is definitely the right thing to do....

the major difference is the type of gun you can buy down south vs here in Canada also. |

The states are (frank)ed with guns...the mentality, the number of guns in circulation. Legislating it even more could help but I don't see them fixing that problem anytime soon. |

They want to arm teachers, that way when the chicken poop cops don't wanna go after someone with an AK-47, they can blame the teachers for not being brave and fast enough in saving the kids. - Mashadar
They are actually blaming the teachers now

This.
+, the GM of the Devils never said he wanted to move the 2nd overall pick per se. He wanted to move the pick BEFORE NJ won the lottery for that pick. |

how about legislating it properly..? it's simply too easy right now to acquire firearms... you're right, it's going to take a lot of time, but they have to start somewhere. |

What I am suggesting is they want to shift the blame to teachers, pass it on as their fault, for not protecting the children.
You know, while the cops are standing outside doing nothing, on their likely union negotiated smoke break.... - Mashadar
obviously dont have ll the details, but its true it seems it took long, one of the dads already on site told them : give me a gun, i'll go in for (frank) sake |

and Mathias Brunet has been very vocal about the "uncertainty" for that #1 pick, not saying he's wrong but he's been hammering on this for a while now. |
