So guess no one has heard the allegations of settlement yet. Some players gonna get cooked for sure. That team was stacked. Gotta be at least some players that are now in nhl. Really hope hart wasn’t one of the 8 players involved. These players will certainly be outted just crazy what went down |

Anyone else feel Calgary got screwed last night? I mean, look, Edmonton is the better team and deserved to win the series, but the entire idea of replay is for the officials on-ice and/or in Toronto to get the call right. There is no way there was a distinct kicking motion on that Coleman goal in the 3rd! Its scary just how incompetent the officials in Toronto must be to possibly screw this up this bad. |

This team isn't doing squat with or without JVR. One more year of him and be done with it. |

This a tough one. The first replay I saw, no way did it look like a kicking motion. It just looked like it went in off his skate. But the replay view that Toronto used to disallow the goal, he did move his leg to the puck. It's just not definitive to me that the motion was distinct enough to overturn the call on the ice.

Not a fan of Montgomery for head coach. I am very happy for him that he was able to rehab and repair his family, and that he has hooked on as an assistant coach in St. Louis. However If I were in Fletcher's shoes I would be worried that the pressures of a head coach in a major market like Philadelphia could possibly push Montgomery over the edge and back towards abuse. I think he should stay in hockey as an assistant and maybe even move into a front office role, but stay away from high stress situations. Just an opinion based on experiences I have had with others over the years, nothing personally against Montgomery. |

Unless you can find a trade partner in the off season. JVR did score over 20 goals playing for one of the worst teams in the league with the worst PP. That has to count for something to maybe a contending team looking to bolster their own PP. If the Flyers cover $2M+ of his salary, I think a team or two may bite. Its worth exploring at least. |

Flyers are an after thought in this city. Very little media pressure. Not much pressure as other markets. Sad really.

Ceci was also knocking Coleman off balance. I do believe with replay slowing down the player's movement isolating his skate as opposed to reviewing all aspects of the entire play. I agree thought the call on the ice should have stood. |

How many of the goals were in the last 25 meaningless games? You see any contending team wanting JVR at 50% retention?
Chuck will likely do something stupid than something smart.
Looking forward to see how he creates cap space to utilize that blank check.

The NHL is a mickey mouse league. Anything short of picking up the puck and throwing it the net should be a goal. To disallow a goal on a play as innocuous as this is a joke |

This team doesn’t have the space to do anything this summer. They have 20 players signed and only $5 mil in cap space remaining. That’s with Fedotov as the backup goalie and without Frost and Tippet extended. They have no valuable prospects to move so any trade will be money in money out. So Fletchers option is to patch a hole while opening up a new one. He will likely have to work with what he has. Maybe a JVR buyout could bring in a middle tier free agent but that’s not going to help. He has to ride and die with what he has done to the roster already. |

I think the places Chuck could gain cap space first and foremost is JVR, but I agree with you that other than covering some salary he should not do anything more, because that would be stupid. The next layer would be a player like Lindblom, but we are not talking a lot of money here. Finally, Fletcher might look to reduce cap space by trading Provorov and/or TK though I think it more likely that one or both of these players would be used in a hockey trade. I think less is more this off season for the Flyers, meaning I am hoping Fletcher shows patience and doesn't do anything stupid in panic. |

Yes, however does Chuck know this......there is no way imo they don't make several changes via trades. I would be floored if they stayed the course.
JVR buyout would be dumb and trypical.
Also with Fedotov he may have a bad camp or what no then they would go add a vet who will make more. I hope he kills it in camp.

with Edmonton and Buff they get an A+ for the first phase of "tanking". They accumulated the high picks.
The second phase is where they have had issues. With better management they wouldn't have been stuck so long as bad teams.
Both teams and others are in a much better spot. Flyers hockey baby

In 15 to 20 years from now, both Edmonton and Pittsburgh will manage to get another Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby and McDavid. So yes, he should. Also there might be a difference between tanking and going bankrupt or being dysfunctional as a franchise. |

It's easy to say but Edmonton was able to get McDavid. Without him they lose to Calgary. McDavid is that generational talent.
Also who did Carolina tank for? They drafted well, developed players and made good trades. |

If he has completed rehab and has been sober for a period of time, his past substance abuse issues should not prevent him from pursuing a career as a head coach. How would you feel if you were in his position and had that problem?
