I never thought the pens series was going to be a cake walk. Pens > Canes so far from what i have seen.
- disorca

I honestly credit the Rangers play and confidence more than I think the Pens are better than the Canes.
The Rangers play this series is a total 180 comparably, showing their potential and talent.

poop man, we were 2 minutes away from taking game 1 and then Cole's overtime winner was such a crap goal
- jimbro83

I meant the Pitt series. They have actually looked pretty decent this series. I hope that game isn't the one that bites us in the ass

I really think the two worst games of the playoffs so far, both games they gave up 7 goals to Pittsburgh were about 80% Patrik Nemeth's fault

they absolutely feasted on him when he was out there

pray he never sees the ice again because Carolina would feast on him just as much as Pitt did

stoked for tonight, i expect it to be a back and forth game.

As for the 1st round pick stuff... Ottawa is willing to trade #7 & they want a top 4 dman. So either Lundqvist or Jones with other considerations may get it done.

- disorca

Neither one of those are top-4 d-men though

Yeah. I don't know if its the Rangers just weren't ready and have played better now, or if the Canes have fallen off a bit. All I know is the Rangers have to win tonight. I think this game is the series
- mdw7413

The complaint amongst Canes fans is their lack of a legitimate superstar. They have a lot of good players but they don't have a superstar like Crosby, Ovechkin or McDavid type who can take over a game when nothing is happening.

If you look at the last number of Stanley Cup champions, they all had that superstar. Tampa has several with Stamkos, Kucherov. Hedman and Vas in goal. Who on the Canes scares you to that degree when they are on the ice. This is coming from a Canes fan.

Yeah I get what you are saying. But you have a lot of really good players. The three Fins and Jarvis and some really good role players. Surprised Svechnikov has been quiet. I had him as giving the Rangers all sorts of problems.

I don't know man. I think the Rangers were just opportunistic in the Pens series. I think the whole team was pretty bad that series. If that series was reversed in how the teams played, we would be like, how the (frank) did we lose that series.

Carolina reminds me of the Torts Rangers. No clear cut superstar, but a really good team that played hard and were great as a sum.

I think he is. Amazing two-way play with a little over a point per game in the last 4 seasons flirting with 40 goals this past one. He's probably the most underrated (should be well known) star in the league.

EDIT: Well...maybe not be in the same sentence as Crosby, McDavid, Kuch & Ovi, you're right haha

Ottawa is still young and rebuilding. They can wait on a good prospect.

Again I agree that he's amazing. But the guy mentioned Sid, Ovi and McDavid first who I think we can both agree are head and shoulders better than Aho. Stamkos has a 60 goal season under his belt, Kuch has an Art Ross, Ted Lindsay and Hart, Hedman is a Norris finalist every year and Vasy is the best goalie in the NHL and has been for a couple of years now.

Aho may get to that point eventually but I'd rather see Aho on the ice vs my team at this point than any of those guys mentioned above. That's not a slight to Aho those guys are likely all HOFers

Well hopefully it doesn't stay the home team wins every game......

I dont know what I want. Do I root for the Hurricanes because...well... frank y'all. Or do I root for the Rangers so it can reaffirm my belief that the Rangers are just on that 2017 Penguins team of destiny run to the Cup.

Not sure either of you could beat Colorado/Tampa/Edmonton, but you never know.

I mean if I'm you, I'm rooting for the Canes

Out of all of them Edmonton scares me the most.

Say whatever you want about McDavid, and he deserves it, but I don't put Edmonton in the same weight class as Tampa or Colorado.

I generally agree, but when you have a superstar player just lighting up teams, it can carry you a long way. Malkin took over series for us in 2009.

I'm the opposite. I know Edmonton doesn't have the defense and goalie, but McDavid is just insane.

Never know in the playoffs. I thought the Rangers would be routed by the Canes. But here we are.
The fun part of the Stanley Cup finals is the East vs West. By that I mean, it is two teams that rarely see each other and have almost no idea what it is like to play against them. You never know how that can play out.
