Good point, the Presidents Trophy winners coming out of the toughest division in hockey clearly did not have a good shot to come out of the East. Fantastic take. - lindros's lung
I appreciate you trying to reason with this “fan” but some folks you just can’t help.
Giroux is still a capable point a game player. - MJL
Who wins draws in his sleep. He is not yet in the twilight of his career. When he gets there I see him going to OT, but until then he prob ends up in CO once they lose Kadri.
So if he re-signs with Florida, there won't be any pressure there?
- MJL
No there isn't a ton of pressure in Florida. They have a good team, but do you really think those players feel the fans and media breathing down their necks everyday? Nobody cares. Bobrovsky just got swept and is probably having a good time on Miami Beach right now. Do you think Tavares and Nylander can walk around Toronto without fans sneering at them for being paid too much. If Markstrom loses tonight, what kind of summer is he going to have in Calgary with non-stop articles about how he choked in the playoffs? It's not even close. Giroux would crumble under that.

Funny how only FlyGirl fans are defending Giroux, but not from fans of the other 31 teams. A little Ginger bias perhaps?

I think you're mistaken to believe that there isn't any pressure in Florida to win.
I just laughed at your "Giroux would crumble under that" comment.

NJ has no need for an ex-Flyer has-been and Giroux has no need for an org that has 0% chance of competing for the cup in the next 2-3 seasons. Pretty sure you can strike NJ from that list.

There going to lose kadri to UFA and his money would be close to what G wants in a deal. - Flyerloon
I could see this. This offseason is basically the first and last chance Kadri has to cash in. Very likely that Colorado won't be able to sign him at the caphit/term he wants. Giroux would be more likely to take a short term, 1 or 2 year deal at a reasonable price to play with a contender.
No. While it wouldn't be horrible the right move for now and the future is to fire Cam Neely, Don Sweeney, and their staff. Retain Bruce Cassidy and start the rebuild. - glove_was_stuck
Out of curiosity, if you're going to suggest that Giroux should play for the NJ Devils (I'm incredibly skeptical) because they have no2 overall, why not mention the Habs that have number 1 overall. I may be biased, and it all depends on what Giroux wants, but I see very little reason for him to go to MTL and no reason at all for him to go to NJ.

Hyman's been a beast for the Oilers. Certainly earning that pay cheque.
I recall many hockeybuzz goers who said good riddance to him and that he wasn't worth the money, well Bunting is a shell of Hyman, they never replaced the player.
