Its possible depending how much money he wants. They have a lot of players to sign , and Mackinnon is up next year too.

They have Burakovsky, Kadri, Nichushkin, Keumper, Sturm, Murray, Manson, Lehkonen (RFA) all up this year.


Its going to be tight for them.

Hard to imagine after being so underpaid for years.

As much as us fans want these guys to take discounts we should not expect for Mack to leave millions on the table when he has already been playing 5-6M above his value for years.

Mcdavid signed his contract when the cap was 79.5M. Thats a 13M contract today and the cap is projected to go up 10M once escrow debt are paid off.

Mack taking less is 12M.
