In my opinion, Seth at 9.5 is awful.

I think the John Tavares contract is movable, I believe it will be in play and that is the right strategy for the Leafs over the next few years. If the Leafs take back 50% of the Tavares cap hit, it is still a $5.5m annual cap saving. Right now the cap is still very tight because of the impact of Covid on revenues and the imposition of escrow on player actual take home salary. But the cap should progressively increase by $14m to $96m over the next 3 seasons.

Leafs need one substantial cost saving deal in order to bridge the gap. They are in better shape than some folks think. There are other teams with far greater cap problems.

Colorado is too good. MacKinnon can't be stopped.

Muzzin has a NMC. I really hope we're not gonna do this all summer. 10 team NTC kicks in summer of 2023. It's completely up to Muzzin whether he goes anywhere, he's already pretty much said he doesn't want too.

Sure you can if you decide to spend it there. There’s $ to be moved out (Holl - $2M, Mrazek $2.8-3.8M, Kerfoot, $3.5M, potentially Muzzin - $5.6M. That’s a fair bit of change. They’ve got holes to fill. They’re counting on some Marlies and/or cheap replacements. They’ll have to spend something on goalies but it’s possible to have some money for a real Ritchie.

Yup... People never look at his age and think wow he technically could still be eligible as an over ager in the OHL. His brother is almost three years older and when he was the age Nick is now, he was still in the OHL.

I know. But who cares? It's a talking point about a way to change the team and clear CAP.

We've all already pointed out and acknowledged the no trade, we're saying things we'd like to see/want to see.

I'm not gonna preface every single post with a disclaimer about no trade clauses.

It's not impossible he agrees to lift his no trade clause, just improbable.
