Willie has a ton of talent. No doubting that. But it is strange that the 2nd line can never get on an extended roll.
Coach has tried lots of combinations for sure. - Leafsmart
They did roll the first half of the season like world beaters, though. That's a pretty decent stretch.
Would've been great if it was reversed and played like that the second half, instead of the first half. |

You clearly don't know who Fido is if you thought he would talk hockey. - AdamFrench

I doubt we could afford either. You're not wrong though. Both are big bodied and have really developed their game in Colorado. Nichushkin had a year just a few years ago where he didn't score any goals in 60 games. This year he scored 25. I don't know what that does to your market value, but it sure seems like it's trending upwards. - Monkeypunk
Wild guess $3.5 to $4.5M depending on term, lose Kerfoot and it might make sense.

You like everyone.
So ... you wouldn't do it?
I *know* Dubas won't, even though we are immediately stronger. - fifty__missions
Probably not at the UFA price he's going to command, probably double digits

I'll say this: Nichushkin has about the same level of deployment as Kerfoot on the PK and a similar effectiveness. I like his physicality more and his size. Theoretically - and historically speaking - he could be a decent fit for JT. But I'm not a huge Kerfoot fan, so that's also a part of my bias.

Can we trade Willie for assets and sign Naz Ufa?
Play Naz at C and JT at LW like everyone is saying.
We are a better team immediately.
Problem is - Dubas would never do it. You all know why.
😢 - fifty__missions
I’d rather he explore trading Muzzin. I think Willie is more useful right now. But this is one thing I agree with you on, JT on Naz’s wing would be sweet |

Oh well that was the part of the initial discussion that you conveniently skipped over.

Great thing about being a Leaf poster on here is that there are no days off.
Just as busy as Dubas is in the summer - Leafsmart
