The way Bergevin or Carolina used them? Yes.
In some cases though, especially when teams are tight against the cap (the actual cap, not some bullpoop internal budget the player's agent told you about), I still think they are a valid possibility where you can either poach a good player from another team or force them to make moves to make it work.
I mostly hate the whole "bad blood" that goes with them for some reason. They are part of the CBA yet people act like it's an insult to use them. - Scabeh
Yeah... I mean, if general managers (and owners!) wouldn't react like total Karens after it happened, I think they would happen more often. |

The thing is that most GMS match, even when maybe, they should not (Weber comes to mind, but that's just one case). I think that's the main reason we don't see them more often. They just don't work. |

So Malkin has the most points in the playoffs since Wayne in 1992 with 36. If McDavid gets to the next round, does he catch him without even playing in the Finals? |

Sounds likely at this point.
Might need to Flames to stretch the series a little.
How (frank)ing awful has Markstrom looked? Jesus christ he's been outplayed by Mike (frank)ing Smith.

Seems if you shoot short side Markstrom's 6'7 frame turns to 5'8 and he misses it. |

I forgot to mention that my hockey team won their 2nd championship in a row (well the last 2 seasons were cancelled but we won 4 years ago as well) last weekend.
So we are, once again, world champions of hockey in the weakest division possible (which is surprisingly strong despite being for "beginners", half the players played in double letters growing up) in Chambly's arena.

when I lived there as a teenager, Restaurant Marius was the best poutine in town, right by the locks, it was a very busy place. Have not been there in 20yrs |

You don't say?
Clearly they decided to honor that place or something.
They were a good bunch of guys. They (frank)ing sent us all rhum and cokes before the game started.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
The @CanadiensMTL remain tight lipped, but we can expect Martin St Louis contract extension as Head Coach to be announced in the near future. |
|
|
|
Romanov: 5 years at $4M, 4 years at $3.5M, 3 years at $3M…
Shorter the term, shorter the $$$
I think it can en with a 3 years for total $9M with some performance linked bonuses… |

They're negociating a contract.
Why would they start blabbering about it unless they actually had something to report?

oh, maybe for the specific details of the contract, I was more referring to the fact that he would be signed as head coach or not, but I guess they already sort of confirmed this at the end of the season. |

Because it is Montreal, the only place the fans are going to comment and get emotional about the coach contract…

The team said they wanted him back and St-Louis said he wanted to be back.
Sounds like a formality at this point.
We're not even in june.
