No again a totally clean hit. Guys a beast. Domi went after Lindgren after game 3 big mistake. Trouba made him pay. Not only that Canes player got a 3rd man in and Rangers scored on the PP |

Domi was falling but he still targeted his head pretty brutally. At a certain point, head shots need to be like high sticking, when it is brutal like that one, even if it wasnt on purpose it should be a penalty and in this case a suspension.

They were 19th out of 31 in team shooting% all while being 6th overall in xGF%. That doesn't jive well. - MattStrat
Okay, so where's the problem. Don't say bad luck. Like I said earlier, it seemed most of the team shot around expectation.
Poor shooters.
No traffic.
No rebounds.
Players out of position. Specifically guys being placed on their weaker side.
Or something else.
I said it before and I'll say it again. When you put 8% shooters in scoring roles and they shoot 8% you can't complain much, if at all. |

Domi was going to get buried and started falling well before he was hit. Totally clean hit not even close. Trouba hit him with his body..kept his hands down. Perfectly executed hit. Domi knew it was coming tried to escape it by falling. See Domi wuss out at end of game with Reeves. Little Domi doesnt have half the testosterone his dad had. |

I know we all love us some ERod and he can do no wrong but he most definitely played offensive roles all season.
ERod had 51.8 xGF% with 44 GF. Kapanen (39.5 v 37), McGinn (29.6 v 26), Malkin (27.2 v 23), and Simon (22.8 v 20) were the only other players who ended up negative.
He also had one of the lowest on ice shooting percentages on the team, 6.89. Only Simon and McGinn were lower.
But hey, he can only play in the top six, so that's where he goes. |

I think that's where our issues lie. Our xGF show that we were generating chances at a high rate, going to the right spots, rebounds, crashing the net, etc. We just didn't have guys who could finish. Had a team of guys who played the right way, but just had no finish. Basically had a bunch of bottom 6 players filling the 2nd line on a rotation depending on who Sully preferred at the time.
That's also why most of Geno's underlying numbers were in line with Sid's in chance generation and what not but the raw totals never added up because Geno wasn't playing with Jake/Rust with regularity whereas Sid was.

"The Penguins have re-signed defenseman Taylor Fedun to a two-year contract extension.
The two-way contract runs through the 2023.24 season and carries an average annual value of $762,500 at the NHL level."

This is the logic of a child. You tried to push me yesterday, so today I’m gonna punch you. You started it!
You don’t accrue the right to get away with dirty plays. Trouba lunged at Domi elbow first! There’s nothing that makes that a clean hit. You don’t earn that because a player (frank)ed with your guy the last game. Those are potentially career ending hits.
You want retribution? Fine. Go after Domi with clean hard hits. That’s hockey and that’s NOT what Trouba did.
Whit has continued to be right. Ranger fans are truly dumb. |

His dad once declined two fights, hit a guy who was being down held by a teammate, then literally hid behind said teammate all in about a 45 second span. Then tried to fight a goalie and ran his mouth whole the other guy was being held against the boards by an official.
Yeah, a real tough guy. |

Why is it only Pen fans who think that hit was dirty. Even Carolina fans know it was clean. Great having you guys so obsessed with Trouba and his physical play. Wouldnt you love to have a guy like that on your team . Hoping we meet again next year in the playoffs . |

No in game 3 Domi crossed checked an injured Lindgren in the back after the final whistle. Trouba made him pay for it with a clean hit. Pen fans need to take an anatomy course they get confused with the elbow and the shoulder. Hows Cindy feeling?? |

Shouldn't be that hard to shed some salary by trading Dumoulin or Pettersson.
Malkin and Letang should go into the summer with their deals done. I'd try to do the same with Rakell, Rodrigues and Heinen. I just feel like Heinen and Rodrigues will choose whoever pays more... |

Totally clean. Never extended his arm or left his feet.
Was it an egregious crazy Tom Wilson-esque hit? No. But to say it was a totally clean hit in the same breath? Not at all. Should have been a 2 minute charging minor for leaving his feet, no more. |

If the Pens feel like Dumoulin is a declining, overpaid asset, what makes you think any other GM would want to..
Oh right, Chuck Fletcher is GM of the Flyers. |

Because GMs often pay for past performance.
Edmonton -> Duncan Keith
Blues -> Leddy
Braun -> Rangers
Johansson -> Capitals

I think the Penguins could sucker teams into thinking Dumo is still a top pairing guy who just happened to be hurt. There are sucker GMs out there. |
