What I took from that article was that the Rangers aren’t ever trading Schneider (rightfully so) and Vancouver wasn’t trading Miller to us w/o him in the deal and Copp was probably plan B

Copp may never be the point producer Miller is, however, if the Ranger's can keep him I am excited to see how well he does in a full season. He definitely fits in with the Rangers.

I’m not sure paying Miller would’ve been an option tho. Copp is going to be much cheaper long term

If you think about it…right now if they just had a go to faceoff guy that would be a huge help. D specialist shutdown kind of guy so Zib can be free to not defend the best centers on the other team. It doesn’t have to be JT Miller. Maybe even just a more complete player version of Rooney, for the 4th line.

I still feel more confident/comfortable this series then I did the last one (only because they’ve been so much better in the dzone). I think both teams are content playing low scoring games, Rangers are definitely comfortable doing that. Canes look like they are too. I don’t expect much to change tonight or the rest of the series
