we still have Skinner at 9 for 5 more years too.

Half the price of a 9th OA is around 16.

They tried the same play 7 times every PP. D-man to Hubs to Barkov for the shot. IT was so predictable

He’s never had many PP assists, as he’s parked in front of the net taking a beating and tipping pucks in, as evidence by equal number of goals and assists over his career on the PP.

He needed (along with all their stars) to be better to beat an experienced team. Year one in what looks like a four year of being good window, no reason to panic.

Can I agree with you that the team has the resources to put themselves in the playoff convo, but I also don’t want to trade a first round pick for a goalie ?

How many 1st round picks do you need over a 2 year span? 9, 16, and 28 this year is pretty good. Odds are at least one of them never sticks as an NHLer. Give me a real goalie any day for one of my three future maybe NHLers I can draft in the 1st round this season.

They were desperate for a defenseman then, as they are desperate for a goaltender now. Desperation can lead to bad decisions. Luckily, Murray avoided it, though not to any great result.

I've never once said we should be bargain hunting for a goalie. There's a grand canyon gap between Aaron Dell 750k and 9th OA trade.

I'd they don't get a real goalie then the 2022-23 season will be a complete waste of time. Getting a competent goalie capable of playing 50 games is a must imo

I thought florida played great game 3. Atleast the first half. They out chanced Tampa. Hedmans Knee save and Stammer and company diving all over was the big difference in that game.

I would think that was what was meant by Cooper outcoached him.
It was very evident, to me anyway, that Cooper had the team return to the Cup-wining style of a staunch defensive game that kept the vast majority of shots to the outside and waited for key opportunities to exploit ...
Coupled with Kuch being the best offensive threat in the series.

Another great deadline acquisition in Nick Paul and offseason signing in Corey Perry...both played supremely in their roles.

Love watching this team play as a well oiled machine.
