I think Brunette got fed his lunch by Cooper, and they got goalie’d for the most part.
Games 1 and 2 Florida outplayed Tampa at even strength but Vasy was the difference and special teams killed them.
Game 3 they got boat raced and deserved to lose.
Game 4 they outplayed Tampa but got goalied again.
Would have been interesting to see how that series went if Coach Q was on the bench - Pegullaville
After game 3 they got motorboated and deserved to lose ☝️

Do they make the new guys sit in the hallway for team meetings?
They brought in the vets , maybe to do veteran hockey things. Block shots, hit and score at a reasonable pace in comparison to the regular season.
I get it, you love reinhart. And were proven wrong again - Boss34
I Love my mom and country.
There captain was a ghost all playoffs. Theres the issue.
With Tampa it started with there best players. Stamkos and Hedman showed the others wtf to do. Why did Barkov and Hub's not do the same? Ekblad was atrocious against Tampaa as well. |

This series can be summed up by saying that the team that's been there before beat the team that hasn't, and that includes the goaltenders. Experience won this series.

I think they put to much trust in Barkov and Hurbredeau.
There was a PP in game 3 i think where they did the same pass across crease like 3-4 times and Tampa knew exactly what was going to happen. The look on Giroux face when the whistle blew was like "why tf are we not trying anything else" - DirtyDan
the team took a poop in the entire playoffs. the caps are mediocre as all (frank) and they barely got by them. they never had the horsepower to get past tampa anyway.

I think the Sabres could have Fiala if they wanted him, for an extremely reasonable price. Career/age wise, how is he any different than Reinhart or Buchnevich? - TheSabresTaco

Not according to Minny fans, who think they're getting a top 10 pick, young prospect, naming rights to the street taco's when born, and some chips and salsa for him.
Plus, the obligatory additional second. - SDSabre
if he's traded, then lol gl

He just scored at a ppg pace. Hes going to get paid with term. We just can't take that risk right now. I'd rather take our time with the young guys and pay them when the time comes

I just wonder if they're too talented a team, if you know what I mean.
Go find your Bob Nystrom and/or Butch Goring. - Powerslave
If that’s what helps their PK not give up 4 PP goals in games 1 and 2 then absolutely.
I thought Florida and Tampa were relatively equal but special teams killed the Cat and all of a sudden they were up 2-0 in the series and it changed the complexion of everything |

O I know. Guerin has to trade him or Dumba, and he's leaning Dumba it would seem. Teams are going to low ball him for sure. It'll just be which team low balls the highest, while also being willing to back the dump trucks for him. Fiala wants to get paid, as he should. |

I agree. I know they value his presence in the locker room, but I would rather see the captain be a guy who will be on this team when it's good. Okposo likely won't be.

Starts with your leaders. It's the reason they're the LEADERS.
Caps are playoff heavy team too. They know what it takes. And they grind you down.

Tampa got a big rest advantage by sweeping Florida. Carolina still can't figure out how to win a road game in the playoffs. That series will likely go 6 or 7. |

It would be like Steve Ott 2.0. Great guy and leader, but might put him over his head. Felt he preformed better as an 'A'.
I know it's trending to have no captain, my preference is to have one. Maybe Alex Tuch or Rasmus? Tough to say who's leading in the room. |

While true, it took that group almost a decade to get to a point where you could say that about them.

early on i said Tuch due to age, but it has become difficult for me to not say Okposo, even with a year left on his contract.
I've been a firm supporter of him the past few years, so I'd consider either one of those guys a win regardless.

Tuch's definitely a leader in that room but IDK if he's C material IMO

it is Kevyn and Jason's job to analyze his potential short and long term role with this team and whether it is worth taking and paying him his contract demands to be here.
