9. Lekkrmakii / Gauthier / Nazar

16. Rutger / Mesar / Mintyukov

28. Luneau / Miro / Howard

If we were to take Lekker at 9 I'd want Rutger for size. Opposite if we go Gauthier at 9 take Mesar for speed and skill

If we keep 28 i'd pick Luneau since we need RHD. But would not be opposed to Miro for his upside if he recovers. Howard at 28 I don't mind either.

I'd be shocked if 28 +Johnson gets it done. 16 + Asplund might be more reasonable IMO, based on likely interest from NJ and Ott driving the price up. Also, Fiala is a loser since he doesn't hit enough and hasdn't singularly carried his team in the PO's.

I like the thought from yesterday of Talbot + Dumba...just not sure what would cost in terms of assets, and would need an extension for Dumba or very solid assurances.
That would allow them to resign Fiala & MAF.

Some would argue Mike Smith is "tougher" then Milan lucic.

He took the hit, and tough guys take hits.

Super tough guys get out hit 6-0 in playoff games.

1) The two issues are not mutually exclusive. We can do both.

2) Our country does not have any more mental illness than any other country.

3) Think about people you know that struggle with mental illness. You can treat it but it never really goes away. There is always a struggle. It's foolish to pretend it is a medical condition where you are either healed or not healed.

The organization gave up on Marcus Foligno and Erod too quickly, I don’t think it would be smart to move a guy like Asplund on a great contract who seems like a perfect bottom 6 winger on a playoff team due to his defensive acumen.

He is showing some offensive upside at the world championships, if he can give you 35-40 points next year he’s a perfect role player.

The fancy numbers have always indicated that he was a good player but he was often dragged down by lesser linemates. It wouldn't surprise me if he was a 15 goal guy on the 4th line, which would be fantastic given his excellent (selke!) defense.
