Look at the team that just beat them. They got beat in the first round before coming back and winning back to back cups. Tweak the roster and come back at it.

It's just amazing how their offense dried up. Credit to TB, Hedman and Vasilevsky.

They are the king of the hill until knocked off the hill. Tampa knew the tweaks they needed to get over the hump, not sure Florida does. They should make small changes and come back at it next season

So where does Giroux go next to try and win his Cup? The Cats probably deserved a better fate tonight as they carried play for much of the game, but Tampon Bay's goalie is all world come playoff time. I hope they enjoyed the strip club last night(this morning).

Jets insider Jeff Hamilton says Winnipeg is willing to give Trotz a “job for life”. Hamilton says Trotz’ priority is to eventually get in a front office job and the Jets are willing to do that.

A retool not a rebuild in Winnipeg if they go with Barry.

Lots of hockey rinks. Winter from September to May. Wind in June. Rain in July. Mosquitos eat you in August. Somewhat of a thriving arts community. Hardy people. Robust welfare system. Guys on a BMX with no seat and a small backpack aren’t students . Mixed bag at best.

I was in the Air Force, stationed in Winnipeg off the Assiniboine Coast. I used to hang out at the Magumba Bar.

It was a rough place... the seediest dive on the wharf... populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta...

It was worse than Detroit.

South Beach is a hell of a place to retire if you’re a multi-millionaire in his 30s.

I’m sure he’ll extend. Worth another go. I’m betting his wife and kids probably don’t mind the location, either.

I just want to add this. The night Chris Pronger got hurt I read on this board That Dornhoffer said the Flyers would off Bobrosky and a First for Victor Hedman. Could you imagine the Flyers with Victor Hedman?

Hilarious how the entire city of St. Louis is melting down over Nazem Kadri and he goes out and scores a hat trick on them.

(turns out if he doesn't get suspended, he's kind of a big difference maker in the POs)

It was never about winning to giroux

- 2Real

Goes to Florida where there is pretty much no pressure to win. Next to no media scrutiny compared to other cities (Toronto, NY, Boston, and the like). Can go about his business blend in and not be bothered.

Well if he goes to Ottawa or comes back here well.......

I hope he comes back for 3 years 18 million. Make it happen Chuck. Then spin it how the flyers made out like bandits.

The guy has been one of the best two way players in the league for a few years now. He is a monster and would love to have him.

Florida lost last year and now this year. Not exactly a apples to apples comparisons to getting swept in 1st round like tampa did.

So what tweaks do you think they should make? Surely you have some trades or free agents in mind no? Should they bring back their coach? Or go for an experienced coach while their window is open?

I have to be honest, a good part of me was glad that Florida got knocked out last night. As much as I appreciated Giroux as a Flyers player, it really did has not sit well with me regarding the way the trade deadline went down. Instead of allowing Fletcher to deal with a few contending teams to get the best deal he could, Giroux was hellbent on playing for the Panthers and only the Panthers. Thus the Flyers get much less than they could have for a player like Giroux at the deadline, at a time in the franchise when they needed it. And in the end, Giroux's single mindedness ended up costing him a chance at the Cup, and part of me is glad. Karma.
