Still cant believe gio turned down the 1m offered to help the team.
When i first read the news report, i thought it was 1.6 per and i was like "thats a good deal!"
800gs per? Gio is a great rich guy! - Fakepartofme Im interested to see what Dubas does to improve the team this offseason. That certainly gives the team a bit more room. Awesome leadership from Gio on that, hoping others may follow.

Supporting cast changes will occur for sure, as it does with most teams year to year.
I dont expect any big changes; coach or core player....unless he is blown away with an offer |

There's more than you think. A lot are calling for the GM, coach (saw more than one MSM calling for Trotz), trading core players including Nylander, Marner, Rielly. Matthews seems to be the only untouchable. - gravyface

So was Colorado last season.
And if Perron is continued to be allowed to run around, he might be out again this playoffs, but for a different reason. - GreatGigInTheSky
That elbow he threw at Kadri's head (narrowly missing) after he scored the second goal is the type of "intent" play that the DoPS never addresses, but should. I'm not saying you suspend him, but I am saying they could be calling him and warning him. There are plays that warrant someone pointing out that they saw it and it won't be tolerated.

Maybe, currently they have 7M in cap space, without resigning Sandin/Lilly/Mikeyev/Lyubushkin/Campbell. They could look at moving Holl/Kerfoot to free up some room as well (And we can all hope Mrazek).
I think they need a left winger to play with JT/Nylander, or move JT to wing.
I'd look at Copp, Marchment, Giroux, Kadri, Paul, Stastny. Likely some of those are out of the price range. |

Very true. But vasi didnt really steal a game.
He played well games 6 and 7 but didnt dominate - Fakepartofme
I'm not sure what you call dominating but a save % of .968 & giving up 1 goal on 31 shots sure fits the bill for me - which is what Vasi had in game 7. |

Right. Brad Marchand is from Halifax, not Boston. Put up better numbers than Tavares his signing year on a competitive team and signed a deal 'in his prime' at a different value. You're right though, this troll can't count. - Bartacus
So now that you have been proven wrong and that you have been doing what everyone knows you were (simply trolling) I'll assume we won't hear from you now which is fine. My suggestion about taking your trolling elsewhere stands or you can practice your counting skills with the # of days you are banned.

Trotz is a great coach. The problem with Trotz is that he would not be a great coach for this team. They'd have to really, really blow it up to suit his style. I think he's a great fit in Winnipeg - not to mention he's from Manitoba.

I don't know, he did it in Washington, another team that you could say wasn't the best "fit" for his style.
Trotz is a great hire for a coach, wherever he ends up.

So it turns out regular season results don't translate all that well in the playoffs.
Shocking.
Well a little shocking that the Panthers got destroyed so badly.... and didn't score a powerplay goal in the postseason.
They really misused Chiarot's crosschecking skills imo. |

The shots were 29-8 at one point - mr.sir
I thought Vasi made about 4 really excellent saves. There was a nice deflection that he caught that the commentator was lauding, but the deflection slowed the puck so much that it wasn't really that difficult of a save - it was just a good idea that was poorly executed. He made a number of better ones than that - but there were a lot of shots from the outside or longer range, and the really great opportunities rushing in the slot went high or wide - or were passed off.
I didn't think Florida generated very many high danger chances at all - they just took a lot of shots. They sort of beat themselves. In fact I think Tampa had better chances overall despite being outshot by a 2-1 margin in the game. The Panthers came out hard, owned the first, and after that, I felt the Lightning were giving them room to shoot from distance but not letting them in close - and Florida was too happy to take those long range shots.

He played over 24 min a game all the way to the SCF last year.
He's not a bad player. I have nothing bad so say about his time in Montreal.
Not that I'm not happy with the amazing return we got for him though. |

Doesnt necessarily correlate to that but they were the 3rd best team in their conference for sure. - Fakepartofme
So NOW the regular season matters? In my simple world, Leafs played Tampa almost dead even over 7 with Point in the lineup for 6 and a bit games. Tampa won in 4 over Florida without Point. I’m tempted to draw conclusions. |

Tell that to Ovi and Kuznetsov and their Stanley Cup.
I would love to see him hired here. |
