No doubt.. can't lose focus. Keep those shot against down.. don't want Igor looking at 40+ every game no matter how well he's playing.
- dozerD10

I remember Hank talking about shot totals in a game and his focus. He would state that he would rather a 40+ shot game than a 20 shot game as it would keep him focused.

I will say the Canes shoot a lot, however, a lot of those shots were perimeter shots that Shesty handles easily. So I will take the 40 shots as long as that it keeps Shesty focused and it is just a number and not quality chances.

Theyre a volume team, its what they do, they cant let it rattle them. As long as they keep the Canes on the perimeter and clear the crease, they can shoot all they want.

Offensively, the guys have to think quicker. They need to keep the puck behind the net and play out the office more. If it comes to the point, Fox has to make a decision quicker as the Canes are a very aggressive defensive team.

Meh. As people are saying he seems to get better with more shots. About 25% or so I’d say are more than likely easy shots to see and/ or save. Much like the one he gave up Sunday thank god that didn’t bite them in the ass, or the Kreider gaffe for that matter.

Overall they’ve done a complete 180 defensively this series so far, compared to the pens series. Those chances/shots that series were a lot more dangerous

Canes are a lot like the Hank era playoff teams…perimeter shots for, blocked shots - play great in the dzone… but they can’t seem to get many goals in these games. Two different forwards have goals for them, which they are probably freaking over

TJ, thanks for sharing. The experience gained and lessons learned should be invaluable for the future

Winning the pens series wasn’t just a series win it was a huge foundation piece. I really hope people don’t lose sight of that, especially if we lose this one. How many teams whether it’s the Leafs, the Oilers, even TB at that time struggled to win a single playoff series and we did it right off the bat.

Was such a huge win for the entire organization and this year is already a smashing success imo

Giroux has one thing going for him, he may have the best playoff beard ever. That thing is thick and vibrant

This is a great article and really says what this current playoff run is all about

Thanks for sharing, really puts these playoffs in perspective as to how well we're actually doing. Hard to take a step back and look at the games objectively when we're in the thick of it.

The fan in us gets mad at players, which is human nature. Every period they play right now is important. Dealing with all the stuff that comes along with it is equally as important. Like in the article, losing that 3 OT game stung like nothing they’ve ever felt on the ice before. But boom, they overcame it and then some in the series. In the end that goal against will be a corner stone moment for them. It doesn’t get much worse than that

Series might have gone differently if we had won that game.
Sure would have rather won though.

Guess that sums up the difference. Tampa gets the bounce, Florida doesn't.
