You don't know me and I don't care what you think about me.
Now that we've dealt with that. What you said is that the Flyers are the perfect place for Trotz. That is what is in question. As if one of the worst run teams in the league, years away from potential contending. Without a single elite level player is a perfect situation for a coach of Trotz stature. Only in your world I guess.
We all know how your prognostications for this team work out. Trotz interviewing here doesn't prove anything of what you stated. He's an unemployed NHL head coach and the Flyers have a coaching opening. Simple as that. - MJL
Like I said .. sad ...
Trotz is a unemployed coach who can name the place he goes next, so why on Earth would he even take any time to interview for the Flyers coaching vacancy if he wasn't interested?? Its you that does not have a clue! And yes, for an established head coach there is no place better for him to coach than a place where the only place you can go is up, and for a franchise that is committed to winning. Again, you don't have a clue ... you simply want to bask in negativity. |

Because it is smart business to do so. Not hard to figure out.
No better place. Good lord.

Can some organizations offer more?
Will some organizations have a coaching budget?

People who rag on Zac crack me up. When we don’t have someone that will drop the gloves on the roster, teams absolutely rag doll our players and goalie with no response. When we do, people rag on them for their lack of scoring ability. It’s a fourth liner. What you should worry about is players like Laughton, Lindblom, Provorov, and Hayes that are paid handsomely to score and can’t. - darkerens
Agreed.
Unpopular opinion. I’d rather go through one more season season of James van Riemsdyk than another second of Kevin Hayes. I don’t care that he collected the most points on the team from the time of his return from injury to the end of the season. Hayes’ deal is an anchor on the cap and he pushes a kid like Morgan Frost back in the line up in the bottom six. You remove Hayes, You give Frost the ball to run with in the top six. Sure you could move Hayes to the bottom six himself but it’s a bad look. He becomes exactly what he is. An overpriced role player. |

I think Zack Kassian would disagree.
Zac has actually won a lot of fights for us this season. Look no further than YouTube. |

I’m not sure what some guys expect. Mac has won way more fights then he’s lost. Fighting Simmonds at the end of a shift was il advised. Some don’t think a team needs a player like Mac. In todays NHL I disagree. It comes down to,some posters believing that part of the game or it’s intangibles no longer exist….maybe on the PS4….but in the real world Mac’s role is still important. |

What you and others fail to realize is Zac Mac stinks. You want a player like that no problem. Get one who can play like a Clutterbuck, Matt Martin, Deslauriers, even Reaves at his age.
What playoff team does Zac play on in the top 12?

Fighting is down and not a big part of the game anymore. The average seems to be around 20 fights a year for a team. That is 0.24 fights per game. Only 6 teams have more than 30 fights this year. MacEwen is not needed for fighting. At best he could be a 13th forward - xShoot4WarAmpsx
It’s not as big a part of the game as it once was….but it’s still part of the game in todays NHL , along with the attributes it brings…watching the playoffs every year you can see how having that guy or several guys willing to engage on every successful team. You don’t have to drop gloves but having that Physical, mental toughness in a lineup has always and will always be essential.
Winning is a war of attrition. |

I think you can read back to what I think of Mac as an NHL player. I’m not sold on him , and haven’t been as far as over all talent. I agree to this point he is still a Tweener. He has some attributes I like , but his over all play needs to improve if he’s going to be warranted a top 12 position on any NHL roster. |

You’re accepting of Ryan Reaves but not Zac MacEwen? That’s mind blowing to me. |

He plays a lazy game and the kids don't need to emulate it at all. It's really odd that he somehow decided that he felt like playing down the stretch. He needs to go! You aren't moving Hayes anyway and I think he contributes more than JVR. And I'm not sure what you have seen in Frost that makes you believe that he is a shoe in for a top six position in the NHL. Yes, he played better down the stretch, but my God please get this kid in the gym or something cause an effing zephyr knocks this little turd over. Thanks! |

It’s amazing how easy puck support looks for these playoff teams. Just so many simple, short/touch passes. |

Yeah, now! There were people who loved the Hayes signing. Hayes was never a good idea and Chuck was pretty much ready to step on a dude’s neck to get him. Guys like phillywhiteout are still clueless on just how bad a signing this was. |

St Louis…that was as bad as bad gets in terms of gaining possession in the offensive zone and trying to pull the goalie. |

Quite a miscue but Husso in my opinion. Would have liked to see him wait longer but who knows if they waived him to the bench.
Binnington was the best St Louis player in games 1, and 2. Not sure they can hang on with Colorado with him out.
I will give St Louis credit as they have been able to give Colorado a true challenge. There is some good hockey in these playoffs. |

It’s just what happens when you get desperate, and over rely on free agency. It’s often riddled with players that won’t live up to the contract.
I don’t hate Kevin Hayes, but I am of the opinion that you stay away from overpaying middle of the lineup type of players. Which he very much is.
A team is going to regret doing a deal for Kadri this summer. Hopefully it’s not the Flyers. |

I agree from top to bottom. The only thing I’ll say about Kadri is, he reminds me of a Matt Duchene level UFA. Not a guy who can carry a team. Not the sexiest name in terms of being a star. Nashville might be regretting the money spent on Duchene but the production is there. We’re not really getting much out of Hayes. There is no strength to the Flyers’ game that Hayes has singlehandedly turned around. |

I haven’t watched a bad game yet. Although I’m still sour about how Florida lost game one. Maybe I’m missing something but I thought Cirelli connected with Bob on the Kucherov goal. I’ve seen softer goaltender interferences get called back. |

Will Zac have a better career than Chris Stewart when all is said and done? - hello it's me 2050
Lol no. Stewart was a better overall player. If you are talking career as a Flyer, then yes Zack has had a better career. 18 games at limited minutes for Stew in Philly so that's why we are terrible 2 years later. |
