Brunette is being out coached.
You can’t have Giroux, and Huberdeau playing where they are on the PP. It’s the opposite of what Tampa does with Stamkos/Kucherov.
Weegar has been poor all playoffs. |

Ask Shooter lol he thinks his job is safe lmao. Pp is unacceptable, he finally goes to the 5 forward unit and gets some looks at the end there |

That’s a crushing loss for Florida.
Game 3 is a must, one is not winning 4 straight against Vas.
Barkov, and Huberdeau need to get going but Hedman to me is the MVP so far. Just imposes his will on every shift. |

So, to summarize, we don't want Barry Trotz to be the Flyers next head coach (if he'll even have us) and we're upset that we signed a dman for league minimum that (hopefully) ends up playing the majority for the Phantoms.
I would be the first to laugh if we lost out on a UFA because we got outbid by $775K but Seeler's signing is the least of our worries. He is a known commodity. We signed him. We have bigger issues to address.
Any chance the player we select at #5 is NHL ready in October? Haven't followed too closely. - cdearth23
Great post! Yes, it's comical perusing the daily complaints about the past over and over as if it will change anything. Great to see there's still arguments over Hartnell/Umberger!
Like you said, Seeler signed for league minimum is the least of our worries. I'm fine with him in a limited role. Of course, he was in a few fights so the Flyers must still be living in the past!

I haven't been able to watch any of the games this series but he had a solid first series. Underlying numbers were very strong.

He made the right read to cover Kucherov in their systems play. The forwards who were no where to be found were the culprits. Lomberg is the culprit on the play who has weak side responsibilities. He never dropped down and just watched the play. You need to learn defensive zone coverages. |

Possible about the numbers, have to say I tried to watch them near the end of the season after Giroux was moved.
He hasn’t really impressed me personally, but I do think they have bigger problems as a team. They looked a bit out of sync against Washington as well.

Watched the replay over-and-over like a dozen times now, and I Agree. It almost seems like Lomberg just assumed Kucherov was just going to hold onto the puck as the clock ran down to take it into an OT. So now just another dumb spectator to his own team's loss.
And while the TV crew were also blaming Weegar in that he should have just let Forsling battle with Kucherov (and instead stop an guard the net), looking back at the replay, Weegar was already heading to intercept Kucherov at the same time as Forsling. Perhaps even a split second earlier than Forsling, before Kucherov got the puck. |

With that amount of time on the clock you need to be aware of the situation. He needed to protect the front of the net. The hell with coverages at that point. The fact is he was in position to guard the front of the net with seconds remaining, and he went behind the net and left the most dangerous player on the ice unguarded. Hockey is a reactionary sport and sometimes you need to adjust to certain situations. I'm not saying that the forward isn't to blame, but with that amount of time on the clock it's about protecting the front of the net cause Kucherov did not have enough time to become a threat from behind the net. |

But But his analytics look good. Anyone who actually watched the Caps series could see he had a rough go. He was not good.

You clearly didn't watch any games in that cap series. He had a rough go that series. Pulling out the spreadsheets doesn't make it true he was solid

Any thoughts on Chuck wasting time signing Chris Stewart?
