well they did score 6 goals on 28 shots... but keeping the puck out of their own net seems to be quite an issue lol

Fleury? - deadpoulet
Wouldn't that be something?
Mike Smith as a 2M backup would be fine.... but Koskinen... what a (frank)ing poison Chiarelli left them... ON HIS LAST DAY ON THE JOB TOO!

they could always try to go on a run with Fleury, but he sure isn't getting younger. ideally they'd need to find a younger goalie with more years to work with. |

I would tend to agree with that, but he might be a better option than a 40 years old Smith. +, he would probably come cheap at this point. Not sure how much money they have to put there, as much as it would help them. |

he'd surely be better than Smith, but with that dcore he might be inconsistent, and it still feels like temporary patchwork. but elite young goaltenders aren't so easy to find lol... maybe they'd have enough cap space to sign Campbell?

Too lazy to look at their cap situation, but one would think it would be easier to get a goalie than to get multiple defensemen. |

I know Koskinen is coming off the books after this year at 4.5M, Campbell will surely be looking for around 5.5-6M, which the leafs will have a very hard time matching

I don't think he's getting that.
Despite the good stats he posted this year, he's still very inexperienced and has yet to prove he can carry the load of a number one goaltender (he got injured this year and wasn't as good when he came back).
He's probably looking at 4M per season on a 3-4 year deal. He might need to take less if he wants to stay on the Leafs.

I may be foolish, but I thought we would have news on Martin St-Louis' contract extension by now...this is taking some time.
Also, what's going on with Carey Price? He has surely seen that second specialist by now. |
