Mathias Brunet says he's been talking to a few teams, and some of them don't have Wright in their top 2... apparently it's far from being a consensus for the #1 pick.

then again, it's Mathias Brunet... lol. - Pat1993

well I find it a bit surprising since a lot of people who have actually followed these players closely do have Wright as their #1. - Pat1993
yes, but look at the past.
2017 Hishier or Patrick were on everyone' list. top 1 or top 2.
5 years later they'd probably be out of the top5.
2018 Dahlin was on everyone' list at #1. was that the right pick?
2019 Hughes was on everyone's list at #1. again, a few years later not so sure anymore that was the right pick.

this happens very often so I'm not surprised. - fidopro
bah, the players you mention aren't all complete failures either.

no, never said that, but they were ranked first on everyone's list, picked first, and years later we see that others may have a better career.
is that not possible with Wright too?

oh it is possible, the draft is basically always a crapshoot, even at #1, except for years when it's about a prominent "generational" talent... my point was that there seems to be a discrepancy between the lists and what teams are projecting, according to what Brunet is saying at least.
