Not sure anyone had a tougher time than me last series…man was I a mental case the stress level was through the roof mostly because I wanted this group and these youngsters to get a series win sooooo bad, and really just enjoy that part of all this. Playoff series wins are a foundation for any teams future and to already have one in place is huge. Because teams like Toronto and the oilers you can see had or are having a hard time doing that. To get it out of the way year one will so beneficial to them down the road. I feel like this series is the biggest since the cup win for this organization. The last era was great don’t get me wrong, but this feels a little different to me. It just seemed like that group could play 20 years and never win one. They were just always a step away…you see the talent already in the early stages and can’t help but get excited.
I’m totally relaxed now lol and whatever happens I’m just going to enjoy the rest of this ride. - Slimtj100
No haha. Him specifically I think had nerves, or jitters. He def got over whatever you want to call it…thankfully. He was amazing once I railed on him - which is usually how it goes which is also why I rail because I know that’ll get him going superstitions, I can’t get enough - Slimtj100
I agree I think he definitely had some combo of nerves and fatigue but when he was the reason for like 50% of our wins this year you just have to let him work through it.
I'm glad the rangers didn't listen to you and that Shesty did

I wonder if the Igor chants start immediately or after a GA.
There is no doubt he may have to steal at least one win from the jaws of defeat vs these guys. Especially in NC

Id feel the same. The rivalry just isn’t there with the canes yet. Rangers - pens seems to play out every season when they’re both in the dance - Slimtj100
The canes were so mediocre for so long that they failed to create a rivalry with anyone.
Boston and the Caps probably the closest things to rivals these days.

The rivalry with the Rangers/Penguins has really evolved in the last 10 years. In the past 8 years, we've played each other in the playoffs 4 times. Hard to believe.
Both the Canes and Rangers are going to be a problem for the next 10+ years. Some of those years I wont care because the Penguins will be tanking and waiting for Uncle Gary to hook us up in the draft lottery again.
