Probably there best period defensively in the playoffs. Expect Carolina to come out hard in the 2nd. Raanta has played extremely well. We will need Igor to come up big at some point in this 2nd.i expect some pushback. - Awolff9
Possibly the best period of the playoffs so far. |

Yea they didn’t give much push that period at all
Shesty looks calm cool and collected - Slimtj100
This crowd is so much more timid than Pitt. Or at least it sounds that way from here. I think the Pittsburgh animals actually rattled him a bit |

The kid line is so (frank)in good! Great road period for the rangers. Quieted the crowd. They were terrific in front of the net and with their outlet passes. Could be 3-0 if not for raanta. Have to weather a canes surge at the start of the 2nd |

Color me wrong, but so far the kids line has really stepped it up in the playoffs. |

well because they didnt do anything special. just skated it out of the zone with complete ease. rewind to Copp's breakout in the last minute. He just cruised past the 2 Carolina forwards all the way down the ice - picklerick
I'm talking about their own zone. Its night and day compared to Pitt. Quick passes and forwards helping compared to against Pitt, stand there with the puck, forwards running around like idiots |

Let's see what happens when Carolina plays at their normal level. The inability to clear our zone is what almost doomed us against Pitt. Plenty of positives in the period that we made happen but I happen to feel like the breakouts were gifted to us. Just way too easy. Hope I'm wrong. I'm just a pickle |

Carolina is just forechecking terribly ineffectiveLy - picklerick
I wouldn't get used to it. I think the Canes legs aren't into it yet. I suspect they will be better in the 2nd and the Rangers better be ready to move the puck out of the zone quickly. |

Ya know whatever happens we all need to take a minute and appreciate how much maturity has come from those 3. We really are in good hands if they continue to progress like they have been. I will be the first one to admit I have been Chytils biggest critic. He has been very good except can he lift the freaking puck. He could have 2 right now. It feels good to watch this series and honestly feel no pressure. I don’t expect much and I think they feel that to, to a certain extent. They are a different team when they are the underdog. |

I’ve been raving about the kids line. We played a great defensive period. We had great chances. Positivity! |

I think in this case he is right. The Canes will be better. And lets hope the Rangers match it. |

I think it will definitely get harder, but I also think, at least it looks like it to me, they learned a little lesson against Pitt. I fully expect the Canes to be better but I also think the Rangers will be better than the awful poop they did in the last series |

There was a few backchecks in the slot that never happened once in the pens series |

If anything that period gives the rangers players some confidence that if they play their game they can be in control |

Yup. The forwards were not helping the D much. Also the D wasn't doing themselves any favors holding onto the puck too long |

Need the 3rd line chipping in some offense to move on in the playoffs. They are getting better each game they play together. They should win this series for us if the top 2 lines match the production of the canes top 2 lines. |

Yup. I think that was looked at for 2 days straight. Gallant probably told them you idiots wont win a game if you play in your own zone like last series |
