I think Reaves has a purpose, but I don’t think he’s needed/is a good fit against CAR. We need a 4th line to shut down Svechnikov/Aho and to do that we need to have a speed/checking 4th line. I’d try Motte Rooney Brodzinski/Hunt and see how that works. I think the Canes are going to expose Reaves BAD. If Gauthier would hit/play more physical more often I think he could make a career out of being a 4th liner but he just doesn’t use his frame to his advantage, you’d think he’s 5’9 180 lbs the way he plays.

that's because it is. i dunno if you noticed but the team has been complete horsepoop for most of its existence. Doesn't lend itself well to building a fanbase when you've been around for 25 years and 18 of them have been garbage.

I kept meaning to bring that up. Is Pittsburgh the only team that has the arena blow a horn to start a chant during the middle of play? It's so loud there is no way it's a fan doing it. I can't (frank)ing stand it.

my gf was watching some of the games with me and she had to stop cuz the horn guy in pitt - poop is SO annoying

The Canes have a guy who does it once per period. He's been doing it for as long as they've been around.

If you've ever been to that rink in Pittsburgh you know they're piping in noise constantly. Went to a game there against the (frank)ing Jets and it was loud constantly. The whole thing is fake as poop.

Who’s gonna read the lineup? Lol. I kind of agree. To me Reaves was more necessary during the regular season and is probably only playing because Motte was out, and now Goodrow. I’m a Reaves defender but I can get behind him sitting these games now. If anything, if poop starts going down they have the whole series to slide him back in. Again the speed, like Jones. They need more speed in the lineup, somewhere

I dunno man. It was a regular season game against Winnipeg and the noise never stopped. No way were people that into it. That was like 7 years ago now, but it was still weird how the building was SO loud. Just a constant low rumble during play.

Interesting. It wouldn't surprise me because a quick search revealed that there are some teams across sports that have been accused of doing it and one got caught. Funny enough, a Penguins beat writer accused Nashville of doing it back in 2017.

Reaves purpose is to eat up 1.750m in Cap space and of course to keep someones seat warm on the bench as he plays less than 8 minutes a night.

They play that Franking siren before the game. Also when the opposing team takes a penalty the scream "cheaters never win" so lame like your at a AHL game. But they do have a loyal fan base, just not enough of them.

Negotiations for a new one are underway.

Dundon has said he's willing to put $200 million of his own cash in for a new one downtown. OR he'll accept putting ~$50 mill in for renovations to the existing one so long as he gets the rights to develop the land around the existing arena.
