Yeah, the only thing that keeps me from saying it's the biggest thing you could imagine is the fact that pretty much none of the guys playing were alive the last time they met in the playoffs!! But, I think there's still more than enough friction between the two cities to pull the teams into it regardless. - Tonybere
It also got a healthy revival starting in 2020. Apparently there have been some fireworks in recent games.

I think Mike Smith was like 25 the last time Calgary played Edmonton in pkayoffs
So a question to our Canadian fans here. Is the Oilers/Flames series going to be as big a deal as they say or is it more the media hyping it up? - mdw7413
Definitely a big deal since they haven't met in the playoffs since 1991 and there games usually are pretty crazy. But here in Toronto, the media only talks about the Leafs 24/7
Obviously the Canes top 2 lines will be a problem, but I’m really worried about the 3rd line matchup. Staal might not lose a face off to Chytil all series. Big test for the kids, excited to see how they do. - TC88
I am thinking Canes are going to match up Staal verse Zib all series, just my guess

I think it’s going to be the most entertaining series in recent memory.

Thinking the same, that’s y Panarin/Strome need to get their game together and be a threat also. Hopefully the kid line can step up even more than they did in the last series and add a little more offense. To beat CAR we’re going to need scoring from the bottom 6.

The 4th line is putrid, complete non factor in the Pitt series. The top two lines need to be their best and the third line plays as they did in the Pitt series and If the Rangers can tighten it up and play better defensively it will be a great series.

I think this is where the Kid line can break out. They will hopefully be getting a favorable matchup occasionally, especially at home.

Goodrow is out to be fair. I think Reaves would be the odd man out, Rooney and motte would certainly play. Goodrow would have chipped in a goal or two imo

I always make time to watch the EDM/CGY games if I can, they're so much fun

I think so too but it would have likely happened being shifted up to another line.

McDavid had some crazy games in that first series. Dude is amazing. Calgary looks to be the overall better team though - mdw7413
The matchups in the 80s we’re flat out wars. Don’t think this will mirror those contests but a healthy dislike and it’s for bragging rights in the province along with a spot in the WCF. Should be a heck of a series

it's going to be (frank)ing wild. Kassian and Tkachuk loathe each other and are complete poopheels. There's going to be fights in the streets.

Tikkanen won it in game 7 in 1991 the last time they played

I'm not even nervous about this series, mainly cuz I don't hate the Cane and we're not expected to win. This is all just gravy with these extra games/experience and if we pull it out, even better. - Mtlca66
It's impossible to hate Jesper Fast.
Guy just does everything the right way. every time.
