I visited 3 times, I'm pretty sure I don't so you definitely don't

Thanks for the insight Captain Obvious. Do you give the NYR fan base permission to hope or is it locked up that they lose in 5?
- rrentz

Shesterkin can steal a series for sure. He was fine in round 1, it was poor defensive play in front of him.

it's no coincidence that the games that Nemeth played were the worst Shesterkin looked

Common sense says the Canes win, the fan in me hopes the Rangers do or at least do better than the bubble

I'm not even nervous about this series, mainly cuz I don't hate the Cane and we're not expected to win. This is all just gravy with these extra games/experience and if we pull it out, even better.

So a question to our Canadian fans here. Is the Oilers/Flames series going to be as big a deal as they say or is it more the media hyping it up?
- mdw7413

Those two teams hate each other. I think it is going to be a big deal.

Yup...NYR is deeper than Bos, and look what they did. Gotta play safer and limit turnovers. Play a simpler game

McDavid had some crazy games in that first series. Dude is amazing. Calgary looks to be the overall better team though

Game 7 I didn't even care until they tied it at the end and then I got annoyed. "You're really gonna tease us like this?"

When they won that is when I realized that no matter what I do still care.

I could barely watch the tv in OT, everytime the puck was in the Rangers zone I had to hold my breathe. I was mostly happy we got a powerplay cause it meant 2 mins where I could kind of relax

No, it's a pretty big deal. Even here in Ontario. I don't have any first hand info, but I imagine in Alberta it's the big event of the next couple weeks for pretty much everyone in the area. Edmonton and Calgary are only about 3 hours apart by car.

It's still wild to me when rivals are so close. In the Premiere League Liverpool and Everton are only separated by 0.9 miles, that's just insane

Thanks Tony. I just see them keep talking about it, so wasn't sure if it was a media thing. I figured there is definitely a rivalry, but not as much as they are talking about it like Ali/Frasier

Hasn't happened in 31 years. It'd be like a Isles/Rangers playoff series except 10x bigger. Battle of Alberta is probably a top-3 rivalry in the league

The other thing is that it's not just hockey. It's an all encompassing rivalry.

Obviously the Canes top 2 lines will be a problem, but I’m really worried about the 3rd line matchup. Staal might not lose a face off to Chytil all series. Big test for the kids, excited to see how they do.

Yeah, the only thing that keeps me from saying it's the biggest thing you could imagine is the fact that pretty much none of the guys playing were alive the last time they met in the playoffs!! But, I think there's still more than enough friction between the two cities to pull the teams into it regardless.
