With the projected contracts for Marchment and Comrie, they both feel like Adams/Pegula signings.
Lean, economic, efficient. |

I don't believe this is an actual thing for the roster.

What proof is there?
He said that poop then was, what, over the cap by like 4 million?
Last year, our roster was not a bunch of cheap guns for hire. Just a bunch of kids on low contracts. They'll eventually be paid and eventually be supplemented with outside talent.

It's hard to wrap your head around that level of senseless hatred, especially when the perpetrator is so young, and because he came from so far away. It's disturbing and deeply saddening. - Hank Balling

Are they spending much above the cap floor this coming season?
Are they going to get to the cap floor by taking on another Boychuck or 3? |

kinda news from the other day, but MAF stated he wished to test UFA and sign one year deals. Bodes well for Buffalo, if they're interested. Depending on what Colorado does with Kuemper and Toronto with Campbell, there really aren't any contenders that need a goalie, let alone a one year declining one. I wonder how Washington feels about their guys. |

Like I said, it's the nature of the roster. You're not going to just massively overpay a couple guys to prove you can spend money.
There will probably be a Boychuk. It still doesn't mean that objective one is to be cheap. The roster this and next year is just built with ELCs. If the right player comes along, I hardly doubt they'll not sign them because of contract demands. I just don't buy it and have seen no proof of it.
And that begins with the 20-21 roster budget.

Olofsson's most likely projected contract is 4x4.95. He plays a full season healthy, seems like a fair offer. My only question is, can or should he be used for a different type of asset? |

That's the player you're paying. Pre and post injury, he was 4-5M good. He showed he could improve in 5v5, which I for one definitely had my doubts. Maybe a 3x5M, low risk, good reward.

With the team being in the situation it's in cap wise, it's worth the risk. If you were closer to the cap, where you know someone has to go, it might be a different answer. He still has to show that he can play this way consistently over and 82 game season. I know, I know: wrist injury and stuff, but you haven't done it until you've done it. Even if it doesn't pan out, he has a skillset that will pretty much land him on an NHL roster somewhere should he not live up to that contract. 3x5M should be moveable if you need it to be. |
