Not concerned with NYR getting their goals or Shesty., but I'm dreading the defensive breakdowns and turnovers on the blue lines. Everyone has to buy in to making safe play if the pass isn't there....Talking about you Mr. Breadman - rrentz
This. Carolina's transition game is leagues better than the Penguins. Turn overs turn even more costly. That is why the Canes have bested up. |

Because he’s going to play for ten teams in the next ten years. One yr deal every year lol. He wore out his welcome 🤷🏻♂️And we had 3 RHD. They dropped the ball signing him to the bridge deal instead of trading him at that point. It’s sucks they didn’t get anything for him I’ll grant you that - Slimtj100
Gorton was asked about it and basically said "look, our hands were tied." I guess he had been warned about this sort of thing before and when it happened, they had to follow through.
Plus honestly I don't think he's sticking in Raleigh. They're going to trade his rights this summer to the highest bidder and he'll probably have another incident there.

My hope is, and seeing how it seemed they were jittery, the weight was lifted off their shoulders. They definitely felt the pressure a bit. Now just relax have fun and play your game |

Tanner-esque
Speaking of...
https://editorinleaf.com/...aple-leafs-honour-course/
Take the bones of this team, and add in Timothy Liljegren and Rasmus Sandin – two future stars on the blue line. Now throw in Nick Robertson, and whoever develops properly out of the seemingly limitless highly ceilinged prospects this team has in the pipeline and watch good things happen.
https://editorinleaf.com/...o-maple-leafs-first-loss/
The losing does suck, but frankly, this loss is different from the rest.
Tampa may have moved on, but the Leafs proved they could hang with the best the NHL likely will ever have to offer. It would have been nice to win, but if you are ever going to lose, this is the team to bow down to.
Make no mistake: the Leafs got screwed.
They won game six, but just not officially. Winning five games to move on turned out to be just too much to ask. But even still, it had to take one of the worst calls in NHL history to make it happen. (I am referring to the ridiculously overturned Tavares goal).
Toronto Maple Leafs Lose Game Seven
The Toronto Maple Leafs went out in the first round, but only after some of the worst officiating the game of hockey has ever seen. They overcame a horribly officiated series, one where calls went against them at every turn, to lose by just a single goal, in the deciding seventh game, to the back-to-back champions.

Strome is a passenger that sometimes takes bad penalties. I have seen enough and do not want him back. Just a little light on the options if they let him walk. - JRR1285
I don't think it's that simple.
I remember points in this series when Bread was floundering and Copp was playing timid where Strome was the only thing keeping that line from being scored on. |

Conversely, the way to beat the Canes is to go straight (frank)ing at them. No dancing around the perimeter or fancy poop. They're excellent at steering you where they want you to go. Just go hard to the net. The Canes D SUCK at dealing with somebody attacking straight on. |

They do this a lot. I mean half the population of the Triangle is from the northeast so there'll still be plenty of Rangers fans there.

True with your Canes and Florida. They win by controlling the pace and flow of the game so well, thus allowing for their transition games to succeed.
HOWEVER, you just described the Rangers style of pass....pass...pass again....pass laterally...try to pass, turnover and a Richard ends in their ass. |

I'm all for skill players to do their thing in the offensive zone, but scoring a couple of goals and turning the puck over for many goals against doesn't cut it. Can't stifle the creativity, but not in neutral zone or near the blue lines. For once...play a smart 60 min. game and be patient!!!!!!!!
Let's win a 1-0 or 2-1 game for a change |
