Yup
FWIW, I'm guessing:
Canes over Rags in 6
Panthers over TB in 6
UPSET PICK-Blues over Avs in 7
Flames over Oilers in 6

CONF FINALS
Florida over Canes in 7
Flames over Blues in 7

SCF: Florida over Calgary in 6

- BiggE

Canada getting there again and losing to a Florida team again seems right to me.

Upsets happen and you never know in hockey. A goalie can get hot but I see it as the Cup is the Avs to lose.

Do you think there is a trade market for Sean Couterier?

Doesn't sound like Lou did that: https://nypost.com/2022/0...islanders-new-head-coach/

How so? They fired Trotz and promoted the assistant a week later. It states in the article tit isnt known if Lou spoke with any other candidates which is unlikely given how fast the decision was made and the fact they are going with the guy with no experience.

You stole my bracket lol

I have Blues over the Avs just because 2nd round is like the Leafs first round. The more I look at it the more I regret my choice lol. Even with Tampa in 7 I had doubts and wasnt confident at all times.

I'm seeing more and more mock drafts showing the Flyers picking Joakim Kemell at 5.
- MBFlyerfan

There's a high bust factor involved with Kemell IMO. If he can't find a way to score goals in the NHL, he'll be quite useless. The Flyers need to get this pick right, too much risk in Kemell for me, especially at 5th overall.

It doesnt change anything. Every game the Pens lost they choked repeatedly with a 2-3 goal lead. They won 3 games without Jarry and if you cant win because you lost one player in Game 5 you arent a good team
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Yeah you’re right. Surely losing your starting goalie and top 5 player of all time would hold no bearing on a prediction made before those players were out

And I do believe I said barring injury I saw them making a run.

If he wasn’t attached to that awful contract. I also doubt he gets traded coming off of back surgery until he comes back in and proves he’s healthy.

7.75M a year for a player of that caliber is an awful contract? The term doesn't bother me.

If he's Laine, he is worth it. I agree it is a huge question because Kemmell does not have Laine's size. DeBrincat is a smaller forward who is a 2 time 40 goal scorer. Kemmell played in Liiga like Laine, but not on a very good team. 15 goals in 39 games. Year before in Liiga under 20- 22 goals in 38 games. So far it appears the scoring touch is there as the competition gets tougher.

With the money players of his caliber are getting, I don’t think it’s that bad. Teams would take it.

Scared about term and injury? I mean, he’s been pretty solid for us, and you can’t knock the guy’s effort. Few people play a 200’ game like him.

Is it Coots in particular that miffs you, or do you just wanna tear the team down to youth and bones? Start from scratch?

Sean is the kind of vet I like workin with the kids, personally. He’s a smart player who plays both ends. He may or may not be a leader in the locker room, but he certainly leads by example.

With the state of the team I’d rather have the assets a 1C would get you in a trade than count on us building anything good around him while he’s still in his prime.

That just me tho. I can’t imagine Chuck would move him even if he could.

Yeah, I understand your point, and no Chuck wouldn’t move him. I think they value him highly, and at this time, have no intentions of shipping him anywhere. Not unless someone called them and blew their minds with a fat offer too good to pass up. They won’t be the ones dialing the other GMs in the near future on Coots.

I will say I am very pleased to see them not hire a coach yet.

Waiting means a guy like Montgomery might be the main candidate. They could have rushed out to bring in Tocchet, or Torts.

Here is to hoping.

Don’t think it happens, but I do wonder what the thoughts would be for quenneville.

The optics would initially be bad, and cancel culture reigns supreme. Crazy times we live in after all.

The man is a good coach, and I’m not sure why criminals can get second chances but he wouldn’t be able to.

Right now I'm just scared they draft Jiricek...my gut says no.

Could be the rumbling of the red wine and cheesesteak I had.

- Glak18

What's wrong with Jiricek? Like we have an abundance of quality RHD or something?

Christ, it hasn't even been a year yet. You're talking like Q has been banished forever. All he has to do is talk to Bettman, kiss the ring, and he's back in the league.

And for the record, he'd be a better fit here than Trotz. And everybody already hates the Flyers, so optics doesn't really matter lol.
