well, winning faceoffs is kind of important, and as a center you wouldn't want him to totally suck at it, but it's definitely a detail that he can improve upon and perfect over time.

that might be the most crucial context for winning faceoffs, but it can also be key in other situations, such as a faceoff in the offensive zone when you're trying to tie the game. having the puck is always a good thing.
