JT should be the one going, too expensive for what he brings or is needed. Nylander should go, his contract is nice and his points are too but his half-assed approach to hockey should never be tolerated.

Since JT can't go, Willy will have to be moved to make any significant changes.

Holl and his $2M. Re-sign Gio and lose Muzzin's $5m? Maybe. Add in Engvall and Micheyev and Mrazek and maybe....just maybe...some real changes can be made to give this team more balance.

Between Nylander, Holl, Muzzin, Micheyev, Engvall and Mrazek you get $21m give or take. That could add a solid D piece, back up and a winger or two at most.

Keefe should go for Trotz.

Knies and Robertson really need to become contributing players next yr.

Lily and Sandin I think are going to be an improvement and help the D a lot.

Offensively Leafers will be good.. Shore up that D and get a better bottom 6 mix..

The main difference to me is that Bolts have exceptional players at every level... Vasy / Hedman / Pt & Kuch up front..

Leafs have exceptional players 34 / 16 up front...

Also bottom 6 scoring came through for bolts and not so much Leafers..

Its a fine line but.. it was enough to send the boys home.. Sucky way to end a terrific year.

Our stars outplayed their stars. But their supporting cast was a little better. The officiating was a factor in the last 2 games unfortunately.

I agree with you on small changes, we have to remember that Tampa might beat every team that they play again this year.

I loved Kerfoot most of the season... he was balls in the playoffs... he can probably play hide and go (frank) himself this summer...

I don't see how you don't go with Campbell in net... Mrazek is a bust so I don't care where he goes as long as it's not here... As for dmen, Holl has to go, Boosh was ok, Gio probably too old, Muzzin it's probably time to part with, Lillypad should be better, Sandin too, and of course 44 is aces... Mikheyev had a great regular season but meh in the playoffs... Him and the other giraffe, Engvall...

Knies is going back school, so I would think the year after is where we see his possible impact with the Leafs.

Went to 7 games with the Champs. Lost by one goal in that game. Played overall a good series.

Always was going to be a real good team going home in round 1 here so I dont think its time to panic.

Vasilevskiy was at his statistical worst and still stood tall when it mattered most.

If you want to beat Tampa Bay next year, you need an upgrade in net or a serious overhaul on defense.

I wouldn't bet on Vasilevskiy ever being that bad again but I could easily see Campbell being inconsistent again.

I don't hate Campbell but he's Reimer 2.0 to me. Nice guy but a back-up.

If they had Fleury at an average .906 SV%, they probably win.

Not necessarily, our players are still improving and I wouldn’t think the bolts will be as good.

We also have 2 young d who should be better next year.
