What team would pay big for Campbell though if he wants to be a 1A starter at least? Most teams have "their guy" or just poopty guys who can't be moved locked up longterm.

Penguins?
Wild? (no cap space lol)
Sabres most likely to get UPL some more time

Not sure what he can expect.

- AdamFrench

I agree.

He likely wants 4-4.5 M but...Leafs won't give him that.

They are offering him 2.75M which probably means they wont go higher than 3.25M.

I know the Leafs have some hard decisions to make but if the Mrazek signing told them anything, it should be that finding a #1 goaltender for under 4M on the UFA market won't work.

I dare think Campbell would accept 4M per season, but I might be wrong.

- Scabeh

I agree... I think Campbell will ask for, and likely get, something like 4.5M per... Maybe even more..

Back to L.A?

Edmonton might need a goalie when Smith retires. Philly can always use a goalie.. Hart hasn't been good. Arizona needs help everywhere

- PatC80

You think Dubas would kick the tires on Gibson... It's an open secret Verbeek is trading him at the draft... We're gonna roll with Dostal / Stolli the goalie next yr.

I wasnt laying out the entire offseason plan in 1 post.. jfc, I get that signing Kadri would need more space

Kerfoot, Mrazek etc...stuff like that

just throwing darts for fun... sorry I haven capfriendlyed all the info for you ahead of time

Whoa, defense. Maybe the Leafs can get lessons.

3.25M would be a great deal for the Leafs..
Campbell was an all-star this year and is not to blame for the series loss to Tampa..

I would be surprised if he gets less than 4.5M

I'd be ok with that.. Gibson's got a higher cap hit but maybe they can make it work.

3 years at 4M sounds fair.

If he wants more term, salary goes down.

I love Soupy but I'm not sure I"m ok with 4.5M for a guy who has been hurt so much. Prior to this year I'd have said also who perhaps isn't mentally tough enough to be the #1 guy but he seemed to get over that hump this year/these playoffs (at least to me).

If they can't unload Mrazek it could be an ugly situation.

Soup was at 1.8 M but you can't possibly expect him to take less than Mrazek.

I also find it exceptionally hard to say "if they leafs only had a goalie like MAF (or others who may be available like Varlomov) they would have beat Tampa" - they didn't lose because of Campbell, not even close in my opinion.

Lil 1.8
Sandin 2
Boosh 1.5
Engvall 2

Traded Holl and Kase for picks. Mrazek gone.

4M cap goalie.

Full roster Leafs have just under 1M.

Can get a Kerfoot replacement for 4.5M or can create space by getting a cheaper Boosh for the bottom pair.

So spend as much as Campbell probably wants to bring in a guy who has played in a market where players can walk down the street and not be recognized and who has traditionally started the season red hot and then pooped the bed as the season ends?

Pass for me, I'd rather pay Campbell at that point - he's loved and loveable and you know exactly what you are getting with him.

Friedman adds that he feels this has to be -- for lack of another team -- Dubas' summer of Kawhi. Thinks the Buds will really consider a major move.

Also adds that he thinks Giordano will likely be back at a lower number

It's known around Duckville... their interactions have been less than cordial.

Verbeek is sweeping out a lot of Murray's favorites. Just sweep San Diego coaching staff out.. Di Miao is another newcomer to management that is not locked into current Ducks.

I think we would've been ok with a loss with a real effort.. That isn't what I was getting at. It was the total no show, Leaf's mailed in Game 4, that's what was bothersome.
- dozerD10

Loser Lightning really mailed in games 1 and 3
