All of this wont matter in 2 years when we sign Nathan MacKinnon to come play with Crosby. - SuperHenderson13
And we tank next year for Beddard. |

Don't forget signing Carter in-season - abasin
Carter contract feels about a million a year too heavy right now

In all seriousness, if that was the 2 year plan, I'd be on board lol. |

Hoping the new ownership does the right thing and fires Hextall. He committed the ultimate sin... built a roster barely good enough to get into the playoffs but with no chance of winning. - MacPatty How can you even determine that? The starting 20 players didn't play a single minute of the 82 games together on the ice. Kind of hard to state exactly what this team could have done if they had.

Madden says Malkin wants 3 years/$20M. so a little under $7M.
3 years at $18M would be my number. |

All this is true, but unfortunately they really can't just run it back. Do they keep together as much as they can, make significant changes, or blow it up is a fascinating question. |

Hey guys haven't been around much because I know I feel differently about the team then most people and don't feel like arguing it. But curious what everyone is thinking these days.
Seems like more people are on board with Dumoulin should go and Peterson stay with Marino. Just on reputation, they should get back a couple picks for him.
Pens need an infusion of youth IMO. Need to give POJ and DOC spots and let them sink or swim. 3rd pair start for POJ is fine, but would like to see DOC on the third line.
That Carter signing really aged badly.
Not sure what to do with Zucker. Love his game, but it's hard to defend him at 6M. I'm personally not willing to trade futures or 2023 cap space to move him though. |

My point was in response to the statement that Hextall F'd up and should be fired. Hard to say that without seeing them all together. I think the direction going forward hinges completely on Letang and Geno, especially Letang. He leaves and I don't see us winning anything for a while. They stay and it gets much harder to choose...despite the injuries all season, we were still briefly first in the division in March.

In a weird way I trust this coming from Madden since he has such an anti-Malkin agenda but $6.7 AAV is downright team friendly. Feel like it goes against his narrative to report that figure so it’s probably true. |

Nah. He had a steady diet of defensive zone starts and bad linemates for Most of the year and still put up respectable numbers in the regular season and playoffs. |

I think he just watches the games without biased eyes. 1 shot on goal last night is just crazy, especially if he was in the offensive zone all night. If the team wants to bring him back they have to have a plan in place for wingers who can help him. It’s not a just sign him and figure it out later situation. |

Rangers have the right components to pull a 2017 Penguins. If Igor gets back to his regular season form, and last night he was looking a lot more like that, they can special team and opportunistic score to the finals. |

You’re right. Carter needs to be sheltered like a 160 pound rookie from the Quebec league. |

Na.
Fine with keeping Sully
Find a way to keep Geno, Rusty, Letang, Rakell
Find a way to dump Doumo, Kap, Carter (hah)
Zucker is a warrior, played through injury, always battling, cap hit sucks but think he has more to give
Retool a bit and finish out the core 3 era |

I’d be all for maximizing his offensive strengths and using him for face offs and not rolling him out for PK, PP and heavy 5-5 minutes. He looked great with good wingers at the start of the season. |
