Hopefully Hex has a heck of a plan this offseason. It will be interesting. Sad to see them go out this way, but we had plenty of chances.

Completely agree, 4 years in a row is inexcusable. If this is the end of the Sid / Geno / Letang era it sucks, but so be it. Was never going to end going out on top.

in '16 i recall zatkoff was good but idk if Zatkoff could have been on the ice for 6 games and had the same result (even with how good that pens team was)

Malkin doesn’t deserve poop this off-season. I’d rather see him walk than anything over 5 mil. Pens didn’t miss Dumo either.

We weren’t conservative. We put shot the (frank) out of them. The refs decided 3 games in a row.

I think Dumo and Zucker are as good as gone with only one year left on their deals. Retain 50% on both if that's what's needed to get them out.

This sucks.

Malkin line has lived in the offensive zone. Haven’t even let a shot attempt against. Just need some puck luck and maybe Kap to make a good decision for once.

Kap shouldn’t have been in this game. I was watching some wilksbarre footage and there’s guys there that have better offensive instincts. Not joking Brian Boyle if healthy should play with Malkin over Kapanen. That said if you’re paid like Malkin and for what he wants you can’t go shoot the puck at the net 1 time in a game 7. Only way he resigns if he lets enough money to get him self 2 good wingers. He can’t do it alone anymore.

solid series despite the third stringer. sid's absense was killer for those few games. oh well. not like i expected the pens to not get murdered in round 2.

It’s getting harder and harder to be a fan of hockey. Every game has refs (frank)ing up the results. It’s unbelievable this series isn’t over already.

Series would have been over already if Refs didnt incorrectly call back the Chytil goal in game 1...and that high stick goal by Guentzel tonite. Pens got all the calls all series.

Brutal ending. This group deserved far better given how much they outplayed NYR. We've been victims of bad luck, injuries, and below average goaltending... but especially blown leads. You cant blow 3 leads in 3 straight elimination games.

Simple plays by McGinn, face off wins by Carter and Blueger, and clears by Marino could've avoided all this. This team just lacked the fundamental killer instinct that won them 3 Cups over the years.

It's going to be a weird offseason. If history says anything, FSG's plans will be put into motion which I think starts with firing Hextall.

Rangers are an okay team, but if their goalie isnt on, they will get destroyed by Carolina. Igor got better as the series went on. Full marks to them for not quitting.

What changes need made when we are a superior team and lose? Maybe a good back up goalie. A top 4 dman. We didn’t lose because of talent. We were by far the better team.

Special teams coach needs replaced. Biggest issue we had this series besides the ref.

Don't see a way in which the new ownership group brings back both Letang and Malkin, especially if they want close to market rate. So long as they have Sid they'll put asses in seats to make money, and for as much as a crapshoot a rebuild is, they have zero shot at winning with the way this team is constructed.

I think Zucker played really well. I know he’s been injured, but he’s been consistent even with Carter and Heinen missing chances. I’d rather see the pens move on from Malkin and look for a center in a trade revolving around Dumo and a 1st. Malkin lost his step and strength.
