Hate to say it, but Jack should’ve had 2 of those goals.

Hate to say it but winning or losing tomorrow will depend on Campbell.

Which 2? The Palat breakaway? The Cirelli breakaway? The Kucherov 5 on 3 goal?

The last goal? He gives up the rebound there that Tampa crashes all over - but there isn't a goalie on the planet that can stop that shot without giving up a rebound. It's actually a well controlled rebound on the one-timer on the pass out from the corner to Killorn (that goes through Marner and Holl), but only an open Point was there to collect it.

The only goal I didn't like, honestly, was the Cirelli breakaway. The spinorma with the shot on the ice - have your stick flat as he spins and he won't put it under you.

I thought Engvall had some good moments yesterday.

The worst player on the ice yesterday was Hagel.

Let's be fair here though, yesterday isn't on Campbell at all.

For someone who's been targeted as the Leafs biggest disadvantage against Tampa, he's been good enough to give his team a chance to win every game.

I don't see how people can ask more of him.

As a lifer, watching since I was a young boy and having missed watching less than 10% of all games since, I can say it never amazes me how The Leafs can find new ways to lose those important games in the most spectacular fashion.

This is a really good team, and again it failed to take advantage of a prime opportunity. Winning in 6 while breaking Tampa's streak of not losing back to back would have set them up for a deep run.

With Johnny Toronto and Nylander having big games, you'd think they could pull this off. And of course they had their chances. Then a crappy goal (like you usually see in OT) brings it all to a do or die game 7.

Marner looked so shaky last night. Well, the last 2 games really. Pucks bouncing, giveaways etc... Maybe he's pressing too much?

Sure, some tough calls and non calls, but there's always something.

I'm really not surprised. And the only way I'm surprised Saturday is if they finally slay the demons.

They deserve to, and they should, and they could...but the curse is alive and well... Until it's not.

If you care to be an optimist (super tough as a Leaf Lifer) you can say winning a game 7 will make it all worthwhile. Something that will harden their resolve, build a winner etc...

I know it's the back to back Champs, and the 17-0 streak, so it's not like complete failure.

But when you have a series like this, their goalie not performing to his usual world beating standards, and having the lead in the 3rd of an elimination game, it just feels again like a lost opportunity.

I sure hope I'm surprised Saturday.

It's quite literally been enough... It's enough...

Stop crushing my heart...

Not necessarily

Can still make a good hockey trade for Nylander, which replaces RW and adds other pieces

Konecny +
Wahlstrom and Mayfield
Soucy, Geekie and picks
Chychrun
Roslovic/Bemstrom/Foudy/Texier

Maybe even a goalie as part of the deal?
Gibson
Varlamov

Giraffe started out slow but created a couple chances as it went on. Mikey need to bury that one in front 🥹😞 He was invisible except that 1 chance I think?

Palat goal wasn’t the greatest either. I know it was 5-3 ( Kucherov ) but Campbell is still standing straight up wondering where the puck is 12 hours later.

We all expected this to go 6 or 7 games, tomorrow night will be fantastic for hockey, just too bad this match up is in the first round.

There was only like 3 guys in front of him and Perry masterfully slightly moving his stick when he tried to make the save on that 5 on 3.

I don't know, might be my goaltender background but I felt Campbell did enough to win this yesterday.

You gotta be able to give Perry his props, that was the perfect weasel move in that moment. That little stick move gets the puck in the net but isn't irrefutable enough to risk making the challenge when the officials throw darts on every review. He knew exactly what he was doing and it was some fine weasel work.

because your older brothers had you replace the plywood sheet in front of the net doesn't make you a goalie expert!

maybe just me, but there isnt much to nit pick and try to narrow down to 1 or 2 players as gotcha moments.

this player and t hat player...blah blah... does it matter?

really no matter what, its the Leafs just slowly finding new ways to let things slip away

I've played goalie up until Midget A.

Then I started smoking weed and thought "well this is way more fun!". (Idiot)

I wouldn't dare get back into the net at my age, I'd destroy my hip in one game. I better stay as a forward in my beer league.
