Great first round of the playoffs. Every single series is 3-2, I don't recall that happening before. Should be a fun night of hockey.

Oh, except for Colorado, that's right. So 7 out of 8 series are 3-2, still should be a great nigh of hockey.

The hockey has been really good. So let’s complain about the announcers.

Yeah, I try but I'm just not a fan. She tries too hard to have catchphrases and it gets distracting.

Inflection, tone of voice. Ridiculous overuse of cliché's. Unwatchable.

Most of the time I have the sound off because I am also watching something else. So I count myself lucky lol

Yeah, I had to mute that Calgary/Dallas game. She sounded like a little church mouse broadcasting the game from the far reaches of the arena. Brutal!

You can't object your displeasure with the broadcast because the games are good. Get with the program.

Lots of intrigue and drama most nights in these games. The first round of the playoffs always seems to be the best anyway, but it's really nice that it seems no lead is safe. The NHL really does have a good product right now, but watch them eff it up by expanding the number of teams that make the playoffs next year.

¡Órale, vato!

You would be luckiest to go en español with the SAP (or ESPN Deportes)

Mucho mejor (y más barato) than that rosetta stone nonsense.

¡Increíble!

World Championships next week. I will be curious to see how Slafkovsky, Nemec, and Jiricek perform.

What does your response have to do with other teams passing on said player 3x?

well saying because another team didnt pick said player doesn't let the flyers off the hook in my mind.

The fact ESPN hasn't put a call in to Gary Thorne is embarrassing. I have to mute some of these games. Stars/Flames last night sounded like a High School game.
- PLindbergh31

ESPN's hockey coverage in general is awful. The between period segments are unwatchable.

The worst. The TNT/TBS are better, but still not great. I'd like to know how they came up with the people announcing these series.
- PLindbergh31

I disagree. I think they're equally bad.

I think Jim Jackson is really good. I got a better appreciation of him listening to him do those games.
- MBFlyerfan

Agree - he's a breath of fresh air in these games.

100% they change the format somehow if the Leafs lose in the first round.....again.

2 good games last night. Shesterkin and Bobrovsky both look shaky to me. Has there been a Russian goalie that's had good playoff success? Other than Vasilevsky and Khabibulin?
- backfire

Bobrovsky looks fine

I remember that Buffalo game in 95. I think that is the same game where Lindros went in for the hit, and the Buffalo d-man basically said, yeah not today! as he didn't want to get hit, and Lindros than took the puck and fed it to someone for a goal.

Ah, the good ole days when I thought a win was always possible.

I do miss Gary Thorne. I believe the woman doing the play by play was Leah Hextall. It takes some getting used to.

Bill - thanks for the Barry Ashbee video. I did not know his pre-Flyers history so I found it very interesting.

The in-between period segments on both TNT and ESPN are bad IMO. There is no energy. Get someone a telestrator or something.

You should listen to the Sixers broadcast team. The women they hired to do the play by play makes the game almost unwatchable. She is absolutely brutal.
- MJL

My son hates her but I think she is trying too hard. Her enthusiasm sounds forced. I think she'll be OK once she gets settled in.

The Hextall lady can straight f@ck off.
