It’s time for everyone to start cheering for those Canadian teams, screw Tampa, LA, Dallas. Who didn’t cheer for the Habs 2021, Canucks in 2011? Sens in 2007, Oilers 2006, Flames in 2004.
Real Canadians cheer on their teams!

I only cheer Tampa, because I can't stand the Leafs, or the Oilers, for that matter. Not a team I will be cheering for in the 2nd round.

But I will say, Go Flames.

They shouldn’t, St Louis is a well balanced team, great defence and lots of weapons up front, better goaltender. Sounds about normal to me.

Stl is good for sure. Just felt like Minny hasn't played all that well.

Canada is made up of several different countries, or it should be….(frank) the Flames, Leafs and Oilers.

As I posted a couple years back, the nhl subsidizes the the US program at a very high rate, compared to revenue brought in.
I can't remember exactly what the funding was, but I believe Canada brings in roughly 60% of the revenue and has about 15% of development revenue goes to Canada, over 40% to the US and Sweden also is similar to Canada.
So basically, we as Canadians, subsidize the US hockey program, in order to grow the game.
Mind you, when I originally posted that, Canadians took up about 50% of the rosters and had a trend of several decades of a certain amount of players in the league.
Now the numbers have dropped slightly, but are being picked up by other nations, that have been subsidized by the NHL, at a disproportionate rate as per where the revenue is being made.
Interesting when you dig into the numbers.

You are welcome.

I am sure many will be disappointed, when reading it like that.

I see a lot of one goal games, another way to look at them is that those are very winnable.games if they were that close.

If the Leafs actually eliminate the Bolts tonight, it will be fun having you cheering for the Bruins next round.😁

Man, Toronto just can't seem to ever seal the deal... a lead going into the 3rd period in an elimination game that could have got them over the hump and now it's back to Game 7 at home with all the pressure on them.

What a massive load of shit!
First, no one outside of the Vancouver fanbase cheered for the Canucks in 2011.
Second, I never cheered for any of the other Canadian teams in cup finals, that's for betas.
