The funniest part of this narrative is the fact this is total fantasy…

True that many Quebec’s based fans are dreaming of the next Guy Lafleur but last generational French Canadian player was Mario Lemieux… OK maybe Vincent Lecavalier but we are talking about decades ago…

When is last time Habs took a Frenchy at the expense of a better player in first round???

Leblanc and we are not talking about a top pick here… and this was over 10 years ago…

Some people here are just playing that broken record including Mrs Hains….

🙄

Using a first on a player that's going to be good but not great is terrible value. Better to get two players that will outscore him significantly combined.

Arizona are a lottery team next year. Even 8f they end up with the third or fourth pick you still get a player better than Wright.

- hunglikeapuck

I disagree, you make it sound like Wright will pan out below expectations...

also, not so sure about your second statement, I know next year is supposed to be a solid draft but I'm not sure that will be the case.

I guess it comes down to how poorly you think of Wright lol

never, unless you go back to when the Nordiques left for Colorado, and even then.
and guess what? Habs have been sucking ever since.

and btw, Leblanc was ranked exactly where he was drafted. it's not like Habs went out of there way to pick him.

people are mixing up a bunch of things, drafting a Quebecer in the 1st round had nothing to do with the blog, it was talking about a hypothetical trade for Lafrenière, and now it's become "who gives a (frank) about Quebec players". jfc...

Non mais ça commence à me faire pomper cette histoire là…

S’il y a une chose de sûre, c’est le fait que le Canadien a systématiquement ignoré années après années la LHJMQ…. Crisse, le CH n’avais même pas de recruteur au Québec…

But some they just don’t get it and they like to bring the French draft failures to explain why we, the French guys are just bugging the others with that…

Like it or not but over 90% of Habs Stanley Cups were won by Habs teams led by French Canadian players such as Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur…. Even last 2, it was Patrick Roy…. So having the French fan base asking for more French leaders on the team is maybe a little bit normal and understandable…. Yes time has changed but when you see a team in (frank)ing Florida is drafting more French Canadian players than the Habs ( and are winning more…) it should not be hard to understand the frustration… and “narrative”…

strange year. 6 of the 8 series were tied at 2 but very few close games in those series and only 2 OT games so far.

je pense j'avais mal interprété ton post, je croyais que tu étais contre l'idée de repêcher des joueurs québécois lol... anyway, drafting those guys when it makes sense is the key here.

Damn, I go and take out the recycling bin to the road and then when I come back it's 3 - 3 ?!!!.

I know I'm slower than I used to be but I'm not that slow ... did I fall through a worm hole and lost time?
