I mean if the Hawks tell him they don't want him, what's he gonna do. Then it comes down to Buffalo convincing him to come. With what they showed to finish the year, the team could finally be somewhat enticing.

It's funny cause they went all in this year and totally flopped. Very curious to see how their new management attacks this offseason. They're already making calls about acquiring 1st round picks, which is a direct indicator that they're willing to get rid of vets.

I'd be putting money on them looking to shed their vets.

I would take in the playoffs and swept or 4-1 series loss over not making the playoffs. All part of the kids development, they have no idea of the intensity they’re watching right now. Get in, take your lumps, learn from it, get better.

Trade for Petry and take Shea Weber to lower the cost of Petry by a metric ton.

Sign a Goalie.

I think they should stand pat always, trade any older players (Over 25) for 1st rd picks and never try to acquire talent.

Deadline allows both sides to see if it's a good fit , prior to extending. With the thought of hoping kane likes the feel and vibe of the team.

Why not waive to go to any playoff bound team? Buffalo or elsewhere. Players do all the time...
