This is just an idea I had over the season if it happen, and it has
…would MTL trade 1OA for Lafreniere and we’d sweeten it with our first. Perhaps sweeten even more. Only because he’s french, and the Gorton connection as the one who drafted him
And before anyone says he’s a bust he’s not, he was 3rd on the team ES goals. He doesn’t get PP time. Like literally doesn’t get any unless of in game injury as a replacement
Just that we need a center hence why Im askin - Slimtj100
I'm probably the only one here who wouldn't be againts it lol |

We're getting the 1st overall pick.
Draft is in Montreal, Habs just had a terrible season, Bettman loves Gorton.
It's all rigged and we know it. - Scabeh
Gonna have to side with Scabeh on this one fellas. - pete26

Yes I have but stud centers are much more valuable than wingers ... you can always trade for those. |

I hope someday laf can be a center. He’s taking draws on occasion this year and o think his brain can handle that
I wouldn’t do it either if I was a MTL fan. It’s a logical thought tho with him being from there. But you’re right, much rather have the true center. |

If you look at them in their draft years, Lafrenière looked more impressive for sure.
Does his performance in his first 2 NHL seasons change his perceived ceiling? I don't think so.
It would be hard not to consider at least.

he's a big winger (we're starting to see this in the series againts PIT) who has the vision of a center. |

The only reason we even do it is his position, we just don’t have the big time center prospect anywhere in the org yet.
I would imagine there is at least a convo between the two GMs. I’m not sure the relationship tho since one was hired when the other was fired lol

The way I see it you build a team from back to front, start with the D's (we already have some good ones coming up) then you build the center line.
Finally you fill the roster with wingers ... they're usually the easiest and cheapest ones to trade for (we have a ton of picks). Stud centers are almost impossible to trade for as other teams rarely want to let them go ... ask Bergevin ...
Just my 2 cents. |

Well that probably depends on who you're asking.
But I personally saw him as a guy who could become a point per game player.

Yea he’s getting better. It’s been slow and a bit frustrating. That’s what I think our fans can take from this debacle so far lol the kids have held their own. Kakko too. Schneider just needs a better partner |

yet fido has been saying all this time we need to build from the center position... I'm confused.

agreed 100%, but that is not the question. bpa.
and there's no guarantee Wright will become a stud center. |
