So I heard about the Spezza speech that turned the game around yesterday.

It reminded me of the speech Staal, Perry and Weber gave when the Habs were down 1-3 last year.

In Staal and Weber's case, it was their last chance to win it all, it may very well be Spezza's.

I'm sure that gave the Leafs players a big boost coming into the 2nd period.

The guys has incredible skill, world class.
He does not like to get hit so kudos to him for driving the net on that play.
He is the antithesis of a power forward, but you can't teach what he can do or practice it, his skill is elite.
We just have to accept what he is and what he is not and appreciate the good parts.

You're right.. Nylander threw a hit yesterday.

In all seriousness, that is the Nylander they need on a consistent basis.. That shot he ripped by Vasi was great. The shot pass on the JT goal was smart as well..

Leafs finally had all the big guys show up in the same game.. Whatever Spezza said to Campbell and the team in the intermission worked.. Spezza's a beauty

Just read some of the exchanges with Mr spatso and Sens blogger
Kevin Francis

wow..something to see, spatso just annoying the poop out of anyone he comes in contact with

imagine bailing on your team, to jump ship to the Sens who are poop for years after...but trying your hardest to convince yourself and anyone else that you are happy about it all.

I'm talking the play he drove the net. You can see the moment he was like I can take the safe shot, or I can drive around and get blasted but might score. And he chose violence. We all get frustrated by his play at times, that's part of the deal and when you see him choose to put it on the line when it actually counts, that's what matters.

As dubas once said (not verbatim) he has the ability to frustrate you for several plays and then woo you with an all world high talent play.
He definitely made up for his frustrating plays.....the whole team did in the 2nd and 3rd. Campbell kept them in, and everyone else did what they were suppose to.
Spezza was great last night, not sure he got on the score sheet, but the little plays he was making all night (digging out pucks, finishing hits, motivational talks etc) really benefitted the team. Keep him in for next game.

Keep the whole 4th line. Blackwell was the best of them (minus inspirational moments).

Pat Maroon gets a game star IMO. That hit he gave Matthews pissed off 34 who was throwing his body around including a big hit on McDonough that led to the game winner.

second'd

game 3 they did a thing...got a lead, gave up some goals...but didnt blow it...changed a bit of the narrative.

game 5, were down early, rallied for a strong 2/3 periods, big players stepped up, changed a bit of the narrative.

Game 6, can they close out a series for once? the biggest one yet.

I think someone might have mentioned that Tampa never, ever loses two in a row because they’re the best ever.

So, sorry.

And hey, I think the Leafs might pull it off this time!

And if they can beat Tampa... they can beat anyone in the east.
