Yeah who cares about stats right?

You’re nothing more than overly judgemental biased haters

Haven’t I received multiple bans for saying this??

To be fair, I'm a little more than that... I'm a bit of a Campbell apologist too...

If you were to try to judge this game based off +- stats without watching it for yourself, you would not gain a sufficient understanding of what went wrong...

You're an anti Holl hater... That's like a double negative... This might need to go to arbitration...

People like picking on one or two players when the truth is the entire team was bad… and Nylander wasn’t the worst… not even close
- Dozzer

The whole team was awful, 100% agree, but in a cap world, higher $ players deserve more criticism. And for me that's Tavares, Nylander, and Muzzin in order currently.

And I know he scored 2 goals and he's not physical, but that play was patheticly embarrassing. This is playoff hockey. If one of your best players has to get benched for not competing hard in the playoffs, then regardless of how the rest of the post season goes, he shouldn't be on the team anymore.

I actually did not like Keefe’s coaching in general yesterday, benching one of his top scorers because he won’t play overly physical, pulling the goalie which will now have him feeling far less secure starting next game. Normally I don’t mind Keefe, he’s a bit stubborn, but his coaching yesterday was flat out bad, admittedly imo to be clear

Holl is making mistakes and has cost us 2 goals I think but he's the worst of the 6 defenders out there. The other 5 need to be way better, and they've cost us way more so far.

I didn't infer you didn't watch the game... In fact, I'd be shocked if you told me you didn't watch...

Also, I'm not even sure what we're debating anymore... I agree the whole team stunk... My opinion is Holl's brutal first shift set the tone for a good portion of that first period... Melander picked up where Holl left off with his lack of heart and the rest just didn't get anything going...

I haven't been around for awhile... Is this affection for Holl and Melander a regular thing or you're just talking hockey after a poopty loss? I was pretty happy with 88 all year... His effort last night leaves a bad taste... I think it's time Lillypad slots back in and Holl out... What say you?

I agree with this a lot. As much as I hated his compete level, I would not have benched Nylander mid game. All that does is give Tampa and the media all the locker room narrative to put pressure on us for next game. I wouldve reamed him out in the locker room out of public view. With Cambell, I'm torn on pulling/keeping but I think how Keefe handled it was wrong. If you were going to pull him, I would've after the 3rd goal early and told him it's to wake the team up and save him or after the 1st period. Pulling after goal 5 was probably too late and I worry for Soup's mental now

WTF happened? It was like watching a game in an alternate universe where the Leafs didn't retool and rebuild. It was like watching some bizarre Twilight Zone episode. I couldn't believe it was the same team that steamrolled the Lightning in game 1.

I'm F-ing confused now. As a Bolts fan, should I be afraid of the team I saw in game 1? Or should I laugh at the discombobulated clusterphuck I saw last night?

Jesus, being a Leafs fan is exhausting mentally and emotionally.

Nope, Holl is better physically than Liljegren and that’s enough of a reason not to flip them again.

And Holl is the number 6 d man, they’re likely to make a mistake on any team and that’s when you need your core guys to step up their game and get t it back on an appropriate pace. Therefore the top 4 D were the biggest problem in game 4 cause they couldn’t get their damn job done.

As for Nylander I never expect him to play physical hockey so I wish the fan base could grasp that and as I said I’m not a fan of Keefe last night and I think his behaviour and choices burned the team’s confidence more than anything.

Campbell also didn’t want out and while I know it’s Keefe’s decision he should have based it on what his goalie wanted.

The last part couldn't be more true.

The really scary part is we dont know either. In game 5 you will either be afraid or fall out of your chair laughing and we have no idea which one will show up lol

By my count, you can only fault Soup for one goal last night.

Right, at that point the game was lost so the most important thing in that moment is your goalie's mental for game 5. Especially since he's proven to be a bit shaky with that. Going against what he wanted doesn't help that.

So what do we do for game 5? We dont really have a 2nd line currently so is it worth it to load up line 1 and go
Matthews - Tavares - Marner
Kase - Kerfoot - Nylander

Yeah well Campbell being injured is a bigger issue (better to protect that) and I don't think he, or any pro athlete should be or is that mentally fragile in what happened last night that it would screw them up completely for the next game.

I mean the 2nd line has been non existent as it is. Can’t hurt or you pray the 2nd line gets it together.
