Decent stats is an understatement. Kuemper was top 5 in SV%, and basically a rounding error from being 2nd behind Shesterkin. More importantly his progression during the year was incredible. Some early growing pains as he adapted to a new system, learned the tendencies of his teammates, etc...but each month he got progressively better and better. But Ek and friends weren't paying any attention. I'm not sure they even watch the West. 10 days ago there was a comment about Dallas being in trouble playing Oettinger as a 3rd string goalie. So I guess Holtby and Khudobin are 1-2? Huh. Oettinger started the majority of the games for the Stars this year and had far better stats than Holtby and Khudobin, playing for the same roster. #3rd stringer

We're not sensitive - it's apparent from the Sabres' performance in the last couple months following the Eichel departure (YAY!) that this team has a totally different culture. Players with talent and potential who were not succeeding under previous coaching are growing and realizing their true potential under Granato.

That was good to see, but teams winning when they're a mile out of the playoffs and have no pressure on them is not a new phenomenon. If they can string together a functional full-season next year then maybe you're correct, but there's still a lot of question marks with the Sabres.
