The new coach should treat the Flyers like an expansion team the first year. - Glak18
Well their rankings with special teams seems to suggest they are already at that level. Team defense took a nose dive and is the first thing that must change.

Honestly if the Flyers are only going to look at the "retreads" and experienced NHL coaches then they should fax Trotz a contract offer today. - MJL
I'm in full agreement with you. He's the only retread that piques my interest.

Back to drafting- I want Slafkovsky.. big, shot, good skating skills IIRC from watching his olympic performance. He will finish and create space for himself as well. More like a modern day Jagr though more nimble feet.
Funny thing, a teammate on the Slovak team was Michal Cajkovsky who was playing in Reading a few years ago just after his junior career ended. He was another skilled player who had size skills and a monster shot from the point as he showed in the Olympics. Met him when he was with the Royals, had some interesting ink on his arms..
Oh yeah Trotz in a heartbeat - RajaAmpat
If he was anything close to being a modern day Jagr he would be going 1st in this draft..... |

Maybe my eyes are blurry, but from my eye test team defense has been an issue for years.

Trotz is not coming here. Why would he have any interest in a rebuild where there are nothing but mediocre young players. He will have his pick of a spot.. NJ...VEGAS..DETROIT... and probably Toronto after they get bounced in 1sr Rd again. |

Yep, and based on whoever drafts highest deems their greatest need.
Some teams want a center or D.. I think a goal scorer is the greatest need for this team.

IDK. You have no idea what motivates him. Why did he go to the NYI right after he won the Capitals first cup? Because he wanted the the challenge I presume. And our next head coach will have a huge challenge sitting in front of them.
Lou Lams is one, if not the best gm in the league. I find this firing very strange. |

If the leafs or Florida go out in the 1st rd. You think they would also want him.
Trotz probably not gonna be in any rush.

I agree about the firing. As for the hiring, show him the $$$. The green poultice cures a lot of ills (bad management, talent deficits, poor medical staff, bad development program, idiot former players wandering around). |

I have. A lot. We would not be focused on 1975 anymore. That is for sure. |

Once the playoffs are over Trotz is going to very likely have his pick to where he wants to go when all is said and done. Flyers are not near the top of that potential and current list. |
