Think he sees the potential of Detroit and Jersey? Vegas is more his speed at this time imo.

I can't argue against this. There are better teams out there but who knows what Trotz is looking for, thiugh. Vegas is built much better than this team currently is. New jersey is about on par with where we are, TBH. Detroit could be appealing just bc of the history of the team... Plus they have better young talent than we do

Have to consider the front office too. Is Trotz sold on this front office making the right moves? I wouldn’t be.

Mentioning Vegas as a destination for Trotz makes sense. So DeBoer becomes available, wouldn't he become the best retread HC available?

Not opposed to Montgomery, but I do believe has the better resume. FWIW, I want a HC with a defensive pedigree. This team just bleeds high danger chances at a high rate. Trotz or Montgomery would be my top choices.

Back to drafting- I want Slafkovsky.. big, shot, good skating skills IIRC from watching his olympic performance. He will finish and create space for himself as well. More like a modern day Jagr though more nimble feet.

Funny thing, a teammate on the Slovak team was Michal Cajkovsky who was playing in Reading a few years ago just after his junior career ended. He was another skilled player who had size skills and a monster shot from the point as he showed in the Olympics. Met him when he was with the Royals, had some interesting ink on his arms..

Yep. A few of his blunders are no longer on the roster (Yandle, Seeler, etc)
There also might be a few omissions that he failed to achieve, although, it's much harder
