I know people hate him but Iā€™m glad Ovie scored because I want Florida to go down
- Dozzer

Let me tell you about Ovie. A number of years back, Stirling, Ontario won Kraft Hockeyville. The exhibition game was played in my nearby hometown of Belleville. The Game featured Washington as one of the teams. Most top end stars never play in such a meaningless game, but Ovie chose to. Why? He wanted people to see him perform, in a small venue that people would not normally be able see him play live. He signed autographs and took time to speak with the local fans. It wasn't about the money, it was about the fans. He gained my respect by doing such a great gesture in my home city.

On beating Florida, it would serve the Leafs well if we were to defeat Tampa.

Well Iā€™m convinced. His support for a sociopathic dictator conducting a genocidal war seems almost trivial now.

I agree that Putin is a war criminal and a homicidal maniac, but I'm not totally convinced that there wasn't a sliver of just cause over in Ukraine. The people of Ukraine are being made to suffer, due to corruption in their Government and Western Governments who've used Ukraine as a major money-laundering entity. Add to that, the Obama Administration setting up a number of bio-weapons facilities in Ukraine, in 2014. Many of the World Economic Forum membership have been profiting on the conflict and actually promoted it. It's sickening, because the rich and powerful use people as fodder to promote war and the spoils that come with it. I have no use for the WEF, The EU and North American governments that allow this to go on. A Pox on all of their houses. The WEF is the enemy of all free, peace loving people.

Not as much as Liljegren or else he'd be in
- Aaron_85

And yet Liljegren has started two of the 3 games so far.

I wonder if he's using it as motivation to help his team through the media. Trying to give a bit of confidence to his group.

Flames and Panthers are having some troubles

2-1 and both 1st place teams have no advantage anymore. Both series could realistically go either way.

Is the Avs goalie done?
- bobbyisno1

No apparently not a serious eye injury. Ryan Johansen should be suspended for the playoffs for that. Doubt it was intentional, but really doesn't matter. The Avs probably rest Kuemper for the next game.

Two Canadians die and end up in Hell. Satan decides to pay them a visit, so he walks into their room and sees them talking and laughing. Confused, he asks them why they're happy.
They tell him, "Well, we're so sick of the cold where we're from, and this place is nice and toasty."
Satan, annoyed, storms away and goes to Hell's boiler room, where he turns up the temperature.
He goes back to the Canadians' room, along the way being begged by all sorts of people to put the heating back down. He enters the room to see the Canadians having a barbecue. Furiously, he asks them what they're doing.
"Well, we can't pass up this wonderful weather without getting out the barbecue!"
Satan realizes he's been doing the wrong thing. He goes to the boiler room and turns it down until it's at a colder temperature than ever seen on earth.
He knows he's won now, so he goes back to the Canadians' room, only to see them jumping up and down in excitement. He shouts at them in fury, "WHY ARE YOU STILL HAPPY?!?!?!"
They look at him and shout at the same time, "Hell froze over! That means the Leafs won!"

Yes it does.

No intent to injure. It is no difference than an accidental high stick. There is nothing in the CBA that says goalies are treated different for a high stick.

Players do not wear cages, goalies choose to take the risk and not where masks that protect them from this.

It wasn't a follow through, he's responsible for his stick, terrible result for a careless play.

Okay?

So 2 mins for a high stick without a follow through.

4 mins if it draws blood.

Happens every single game. It is unfortunate it hit around his eye but that is the risk.

There is nothing in the cba that says a player shall be suspended for a high stick unless there is obvious intent to injure.

Your Holl assessment makes too much sense. Pretty sure if you have him as the 7th D you want him fired into the sun. It's the only way.

BTW, everybody hates Woodstock people.

- UsernameUnknown

Saying we shouldn't hold Holl to a higher standard because he's a tweener who could be the 7th D doesn't add up, 7th D don't get paid two million a year.

He's consistently either on his ass, making a mistake, or out of position. Liljegren is better in those areas, he's even better at handling the physicality than Holl because he's not on his ass. He's the safer play. That's all anyone is saying.

But criticizing the play of anyone wearing blue and white right now is a cardinal sin for some, how dare anyone wish they played the player who makes less mistakes in a playoff game. And yet the word bias gets flung around like it's oxygen. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Or maybe people just have a difference of opinion on him than you do

And more importantly the guy who gets to decide who plays does too

Not a fan of Holl, that said, the team has come a long way from the days of Marincin, Connor Carrick and other forgetable d-men that were part of the Leaf regulars. Big game tonight, win and the Leafs are looking very good, at the very least Leafs have got home ice advantage back. Winning tonight may come down to special teams and Holl probably adds more to the PK than Lily adds to the PP.

That task would be hard to prove.

Glad to hear Kuemper is going to be ok.
